The Traveler's friend.
Mujavi saw the traveler, Nirvana, as nothing more than another lioness claimed by the king. Another mouth to feed, teenager to train, another pain in the ass. She wasn't happy about any of this, at first.
Mujavi sat in on the introduction of Nirvana, learning there that the lion was a traveler and only staying for a limited time. Relief washed over Mujavi, the lion wouldn't be here forever. Good.
A few days into Nirvana's stay, Mujavi was relaxing under the shade of a baobab tree when Nirvana walked over, a smile on their face.
'I wanted a rest, not a chat.' Mujavi thought, her relaxed state becoming agitated as the lion got closer.
"Can I help you, nomad?" Mujavi growled coldly.
Nirvana stopped, hesitating to get closer. "I just wanted to come say hello. I've talked with the rest of your pride, you're the only one I've had the hardest time finding." Nirvana smiled nervously.
"Good reason for that." Mujavi snapped back. "I'm not fond of strangers after the Wraith incident. Hope you understand." Mujavi stared coldly at the lion, hoping they'd get the hint to leave her alone. But no, no hint was got. Nirvana sat a few feet from Mujavi, nervous expression still held on their face.
"I'm sorry you feel that way about strangers, but I promise, I'm no wraith." Nirvana chuckled. "Would you be willing to give me a chance, seeing as I won't be here forever?"
Mujavi growled, narrowing her eyes. After a moment, she spoke. "Fine, nomad. But if you turn on us," Mujavi extended her claws into the dirt. "I won't hesitate."
11/16/2023 Near End
Mujavi rested quietly in her cave, away from the hot sun. She was about to doze off when Nirvana entered her cave, an unreadable look on their face.
Mujavi sat up, concerned. "Nirvana, are you okay? What's wrong?" She asked gently.
Nirvana sat in front of her, expression unchanged. "My time with the pride is coming to an end. I'll be moving on soon, Mujavi." The reply sunk Mujavi's heart. Her friend would be on her travels again.
Mujavi sighed heavily. "I dreaded this day, when you'd have to leave. But, you could come back, the pride would be happy to see you again." She tried to lighten the situation, but the look that Nirvana gave her told her that they wouldn't be back.
"I see." She said. "Well, we may not see each other again while on earth, but we will in the celestial realm."
For the remainder of the night and for the coming days, Mujavi and Nirvana spent as much time together as they could.
While they would miss each others company here, they could surely see each other again one day.
