On the last day of the Great Drought of 2023, a terrible, devastating firestorm ripped through Inti del Sol's territory. It seemed the savannah plains had saved their true fury for this moment, for the fire managed to enter Inti's camp and drive everyone away from their homes. In the confusion and panic, his heir and the pride's adoptive son Viracocha was lost. Some had seen him disappear into a cloud of ash and smoke, and most if not all believed him lost to the fires.

Inti's pride spent the night sheltering from the fires in a dark, damp cave, mourning their loss and not knowing whether they even had a home to return to. As Inti del Sol picked his way through the remains of his home, paws burnt from the still smouldering ash that coated all the caverns, he spotted a lone figure standing in the middle of his camp. A young adolescent male stood before the king, seeming to have no memory of who he was nor where he'd come from. The youngster seemed completely unscathed by the fires that had scorched the entire surrounding area, perplexing the entire pride. His paw pads weren't even slightly red, nor was there any part of him singed. Quite the opposite actually, for his pelt seemed blessed by the fire itself, as did his mane and eyes. Unable to attribute this to anything other than fate, Inti del Sol took the young male under his wings. He was named Inti del Fuego, the Fireborn Prince, and was made Inti del Sol's future heir on the spot. Inti del Fuego has a long journey to make, and a winding path to follow to glory. But under Inti del Sol's and Wayward Son's tutelage, he will surely get there.
