Pitiful mewls escaped the Underworld cave as you tred nearby. Maleficent, a beautiful pewter lioness with Wicked Patches, had given birth to 4 cubs...
Wait... No...?
3 Cubs? Your head tilts slightly as you realize that the last cub that you think 2, is one big cub!
Huh... Perhaps its size indicates strength? No matter... The cubs are born, and all is well.
But all is not well. The last cub, (lovingly named Little Warrior) seems to have difficulties moving around. As the days go by, it's clear that the little one's size isn't a blessing from the ancestors.
By the time Little Warrior is 2 months old, her size swells to uncomfortable proportions, and the weight of it all makes it hard to move and play no matter how hard her mother nudges her. Whimpering in defeat, Little Warrior thumps down in the shade and scratches at the ground to simulate the kicked-up dirt from the fun its siblings are having...
At 4 months, the apathy kicks in. Little Warrior's littermates constantly tease and goad her into wrestling, and when that doesn't work, the cubs start nipping. One good growl from Maleficent puts an end to the behavior, but that also puts an end to the interactions between Little Warrior and her brothers. Thinking it's better for everyone, Little Warrior drags herself a few inches away from her mother to ponder her lot in life, and stew in isolation.
At 5 months, the wails from Maleficent fill the cave. Little Warrior's body lay a mere 10 centimeters away from Maleficent with one paw outstretched.... Trying to reach its mother for the last time. The pride mourns, and Maleficent leaves her remaining cubs with another nursing lioness to find reprieve from her grief.
As Maleficent dreams later that night, she sees Little Warrior in a body that doesn't give her strain so that she can move freely. She also sees her own mother guiding her little one and teaching her how to stalk and pounce, and nearly roars with joy. Little Warrior stops practicing and bounds over to Maleficent and greets her with a mewl, and Maleficent licks her in turn with a warm purr.
Little Warrior informs her mother that the name the spirits gave her is Little Wonder, and Maleficent nuzzles her in agreement. When Maleficent returns to the pride, she informs her pride mates that her Little Wonder is finally at peace.

2.The lumps covering Little Wonder's body are getting bigger...
3. Little Wonder has trouble moving. Looks like some lumps are growing deeper inside of the little cub's body as well.
4. Little Wonder no longer plays with other cubs, having all its energy drained by trying to stand up or walk with all that weight.
5. You notice lumps covering Little Wonder's spine and back. The cub doesn't move very much lately and is very apathetic.
6. Little Wonder passed away due to health complications.
✨️Little Wonder✨️ got left out during playtime today after spraining their ankle during training. Grandpaw 𝑽𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒍 has spent the day with them, and promised to take them out on a cool walk to all the neat places on the territory when ✨️Little Wonder✨️ feels better.
