However, the winds of fate were not always kind, and in a new enemy her whole community was destroyed.
Monsters that seemed to rip through the earth cut her communication with the world and her powers were canceled. Her mate grabbed her and ran. She tried to fight against him to save her people but he knew she would die if she went back. He went back to his old pride, dropping her to the healers. He never mentioned his lethal injuries so she would have all the healers attention. When he heard she was okay he crawled into a space far away and died. Trackers from the pride found him and told Aife.
Aife was heartbroken and decided to stay with the pride since they saved her and had relationships with her mate. Here she heard stories of her mate when he was young and the pride helped her cope with her now broken world.
