Sotiria knew from the moment Candace was born she'd choose her as the next Archivist. It mostly stemmed from the fact that she was a grandchild to her mentor, Charmaine. There wasn't much else to it. A lot of lions criticized Sotirias decision, due to the fact that Candace wasn't what most would see as an ideal caretaker of... well anything. However, there wasn't much anyone could say once Sotiria died, and Candace, who was still a teenager at the time had to take over as Archivist. Turns out, she isn't as bad at what she is doing as everyone expected her to be. And she quite enjoys her new role, although it is overwhelming at times.

Candace is a messy lioness, with a laidback attitude. She is a true believer in "hakuna matata" - no worries, no responsibilities. At least she was before she became the Archivist. While doing her job, she is still messy and unorganized, but she found she enjoys the quiet of the library and wouldn't trade it for any other role. Turns out, she is quite a nerd and a bookworm.
