Giza was a female orphaned cub adopted into the Pride by Brond and Sheena. She’s one of the original members, in fact! Brond and Sheena don’t fill parental roles, but become the cool older couple she wants to hang out with all the time. Giza is an excellent hunter, under the tutelage of Lisaba, who becomes like the mother she never had.
Giza is very much a work-a-holic, she would go on every hunt if she was allowed to. And, since she was partially raised by Lisaba, she’s a stickler for the rules. She gets along well with Brond and Msiri, and personally thinks Brond is just SO handsome! She’d never tell him that, of course. He’s too much fun to tease!
She bears Brond one cub, a girl, and thinks that’s quite enough. Her daughter Samafi goes on to be a founding member of her half-brother Wema’s pride, and sends her mother monthly updates. Giza couldn’t be more proud.
With Samafi gone, she does get empty nester syndrome a bit 😂 so she breaks her own ‘1 cub’ rule and bears another litter with Brond. Shangaza, her second born, leaves the pride the second she turns two. She loves her mother, but after her father’s murder, she had no desire to remain in Mruki’s Pride. Samafi joins her, to look after her.
Giza’s third litter with Brond is the king’s last before he is overthrown and killed by a former guard, Mruki. The three are spared as an act of ‘kindness’ by the new king. All three go to the tree as adolescents. They are walked there by their mother, hardly ‘abandoned’. Giza was a tree cub herself, and with the Pride filled beyond capacity, she felt this was the best chance her little ones had to find new prides. All three were raised with love, but after growing up under a mad king, they were eager for new beginnings.
(Also yes, she’s named after Giza from the ‘Africa’ webcomic, they have the same snarky personality it seemed fitting.)

~Giza nudged you affectionately and told you that your battling looked far better than yesterday. Was...that a compliment? 4x
~Giza bites your ear as you greet her, then nips at your tail. Some lions have interesting ways of showing affection. 3x
~You made the mistake of asking Giza how your mane looked today. She just grinned and remarked that it looked great compared to your face. Ouch. Put some snuh on that burn.
~You hung out with Giza over dinner. She sometimes says stuff that seems so mean and yet... you feel as if you've never laughed harder in your life.
