A dream 10 years in the making. I had, over the years, come to accept that this probably wouldn’t happen. But the stars have finally aligned; though one door closed, another opened. I truly believe she was fated to me, and I am so grateful to finally have a little reminder of my own ♡

9/25/2024 - ...And no one is guaranteed, either.

This is the time of the great passing - where I lose many lions that have been with me for countless years. The oldest has been here ten. Ten real, actual years. Gone.

I'm a whole different person than I was then. And yet I am powerless to stop the greying of their muzzles. I can't stop them from dying. But life must go on.

Hence, Momento Mori. My reminder, through all this, that death is natural but it is far from the end.

The clock ticks on. My Prides live on. I'll be OK.
