Urujuani

Urujuani (‘purple’ or ‘violet’) is an abandoned cub Brond brought home from the Giving Tree. For the first time in quite a few months, his pride had the resources to support additional cubs, with many of his own offspring reaching their teenage years. Brond’s favorite thing is offering a home to displaced cubs, it’s his way of trying to leave the world a better place than he found it, and little ‘Uru’ wins his heart immediately.

Kuishi is her foster mom, and soon outright adopts her, making Zuwena, Auri and Kaarina her sisters. Her best friend is Jasmine.

Urujuani passes unexpectedly when the cubs in her third and final litter are adolescents. Uru was an elder lioness by then, but she had seemed perfectly healthy, until one morning when she simply didn’t wake up. Her four youngest cubs were devastated, and while many in the pride stepped up to comfort and look after them, the cubs still felt out of place without their mother.

Just before their first hunt, the girls ask the king and queen’s permission to move to the allied Hidden Valley Pride, to be with their older sister Emmyufu. The royal couple agrees, hoping a new place and the presence of an older lion who understands exactly what they’re going through will help the young lions grieve.

To the shock of the three girls, their brother Uroshi announces that he is not going with them. He will take the traditional path for young males and leave the pride, seeking his own home alone. His sisters are very against it, they want to all stay together, but in the end, it is Uroshi’s life and Uroshi’s choice. He wants to find a mate and have cubs, he tells them, something almost impossible for a guard to do. So, with heavy hearts, Buruda, Urunjira and Dimia bid their brother good luck on his journey, and set off on their own.

~You notice another pride mate was feeling down. Before you could think of what to say, Urujuani came in to comfort them with a pretty little flower gift. You wish you were that thoughtful.

~After a morning cuddle, Urujuani gives you a good luck snack, a dead mouse. Awww, how kind of her. 4x
