As Elaine's daughter she of course follows the faith of the silent God to a tea and often follows her mother secretly during the rituals that she carries out in hopes of doing the same one day, the thought of being able to scrye the future was a tantalizing one that she could not get out of her head.
--
Ellie stalked her mother silently under the light of the full moon, she had watched her as she made the circle of bones and skulls, various carcasses of kills that were not consumed by the pride, it takes a month to get it to this stage. She watched as her mother entered the circle and sat down.
The young lioness watched in awe and quietly mimicked her mother's movements, and whispered the same chants that her mother uttered. She desperately wanted to do the same as her mother.
Suddenly a rush of energy entered her system and her body went numb, she could feel nothing, her body could no longer move at all, she blinked her eyes a few times before realizing that it was no longer bush and trees before her but a scene that had not graced her eyes, nor anyone else's, at least not yet.
Somehow she had managed to watch the future, exactly like her mother. The scene was that of sorrow, a lioness lay still in the middle of the den in her nest, clearly natural, at least.
Ellie recognized the lioness as shadow, a primal. At that point of recognition she was thrown out of her trance and brought back to her place in the bushes. She looked towards her mother who was now glaring straight at her. She was not meant to be here, not allowed to be here, she swallowed.
Her mother stepped out of the circle a low growl escaping her, "I told you never to follow me. I told you it was dangerous." She says, Ellie frowns and steps further into the shadows.
"I'm sorry mother." She mutters quietly before slinking home to the pride a sad expression plastered on her face. Her mother didn't follow.
