Sanguinus stepped lightly across the ministry floors trying to avoid the wooden floor boards creaking. She wanted to avoid talking to anyone as much as she could. She hated talking to Imperator at night, she felt he became more agitated at night and hard to have a genuine conversation with. As she stepped past his room, his door slammed open. "Were you trying to avoid me?" Imperator quietly but firmly said. "Not avoid you, just let you get your beauty rest," in all her 96 years of serving the clergy she had never learned to properly lie. She was one of two true born demons summoned to serve the clergy, yet was always stuck with Imperator since his birth. He was always a problem child to her but she loved him with all her heart. she had raised him to be kind and giving, but she knew the stress of being the head of all of the church was getting to him. He always wanted to become Father, but he didn't know how hard it was to deal with everyone, not just a few Ghouls. "Sang," His nickname for her, "You know I will be fine, this is just a spell I'm going through."
"Yes small one, but you need to understand others in order to be a good leader," she tried to give him a mini parenting lesson but was turned away when he slammed the door in her face. "Why do I try," she mumbled to herself. She proceeded to walk to her solemn room. She outlived anyone she had a real connection with and was now stuck with her blood brother and a new group of rowdy Ghouls and their manipulative leader. She was the band mother, one who didn't play with them but would get them anything they needed when they wanted it. She very much liked the job but never was satisfied. Sure when the little one she raised became the most important thing to the clergy, she was proud, but not satisfied. She had felt like she failed him, he would never truly reach his full potential and she knew that.
