The opposite of her mother in colour, one pitch black and one covered in a myriad of colours, dazzling fur that left lions speechless and cubs mesmirised by the angel that had graced them with her presence.

Jelly looks at herself in the rippling waters of a pond, delicately washing her fur and cleaning the days dust off of herself. Yasmine walks up the the younger lioness with a frown on her face. "You shouldn't care so much about your looks." She says with an air of wisdom in her voice.
The younger lioness looks up at her with a confused expression, her elder sits down next to her, clearly about to tell a story, the childlike part of Jelly was delighted that she was going to hear a story from good old Yasmine again, but part of her was dreading the reprimand that was definitely coming her way.
"When I was a young lioness, not yet in this pride I had a friend who had fur almost as gorgeous as yours, filled with colour, she loved it and tried her hardest to look her best everyday in order to impress the king of my then pride." She paused taking a drink from the lake, Jelly listened intently, "The ming loved her and was impressed and even though she had gotten the approval of the lion she wanted she still felt the need to keep obsessively checking her appearance over and over again."
"It got to the point where she stopped going hunting. She stopped talking to any of her pride members. All she did was look at herself in the pond and licked her paws raw until they were 'clean', she was never satisfied, never happy and no one could get through to her." Jelly frowned, this was not a good story at all, "The lioness eventually stopped eating and stayed glued to her spot by the water until one day her own neglect of her body became too much and she walked into the arms of the silent God emaciated, balding and disgusting."
"She couldn't be saved no matter how hard I tried and I miss her everyday. I wouldn't want you to become like that, so... maybe come for dinner, hey?" She asks nudging the young lioness before walking away, Jelly starts blankly at the spot Yamine just was and frowns at just how horrific the story was, she definitely wasn't going to be looking at herself in the water anymore.
