Nikumbuke means ‘remember me’. She is named after her grandmother, who passed on the day she and her siblings were born. She stays in the Pride as an adult, and while she was an excellent hunting student, she finds her place as a broodmother, and gets to watch over her new baby siblings!
Her two littermates Marjani and Zungusha, leave the Pride just before their second birthday, to seek their fortunes elsewhere. After a few months, she misses them terribly, and so travels to the Hidden Valley Pride to stay with her friend Subiri, who is her age and also missing her litter mates who left to explore the world. She and Subiri are pretty much attached at the hip after that.
She is VERY into Crown Prince Yowë, and he seems to like her too. King Wema doesn’t approve, he wants Yowë to choose one of his daughters as Future Queen. Yowë cleverly refuses to choose anyone until it’s relevant. It breaks her heart when he leaves the pride.
Nikumbuke lives a long life after Yowë left, and in the end, didn’t miss him at all. She had three litters, all at the same time as her best friend Subiri, all sired by the same lion, and all raised together with Subiri’s cubs. Her family unit brought her a lot of joy, and she was so glad she got to see them all grow up before she retired from the hunting party, at age 14.
She passed over a year later when a summer chill swept through the elders den, and took four of the oldest lionesses with it when it went. She was buried beside her friend Subiri, and her children mourned greatly.

1. Vizazi ~ 794215911697 female, traded at age 2.6
Thrid litter:
1. Jangwa ~ female
2. Mwotaji ~ 794217390644 male, kept until age 7.8, left the pride with his brother.
