Maple grew up in Anza's pride with her sister, Coconut. They were really close, so when Coconut died, Maple was absolutely devastated. The pride didn't really care about Coconut's death, because many cubs were dying in unknown ways this season. Maple, despite her young age, decided to solve the mystery of the cubs' deaths. Her mother, Nyx , advised Maple to stay out of this, but the young lioness wasn't listening.
She soon realized that the cubs were allowed to be in only one place outside the nursery - The Medicine Den. The herbalists that worked there had access to many kinds of herbs, and some of them could be dangerous... Maple asked some trusted lionesses about Peach and Yuki, and she found out that Yuki could have a motive for murder! She had a reason to hate Anza - he forbid her from hunting and made her the herbalist's apprentice despite her protests. And most of the cubs that died were Anza's... That made sense!
To watch Yuki, Maple asked to become her and Peach's apprentice. While Peach was happy to hear that, Yuki looked pretty concerned, and maybe even a little scared?
Since Maple moved into the Medicine Den, the deaths of cubs weren't happening anymore. That made her believe that Yuki was behind all that even more, but she couldn't tell anyone... She had no real proof.
She decided to stay in the Medicine Den, because not only she still wanted to watch Yuki, but she also turned out to actually like the herbalist's job.

After both Peach and Yuki passed away Maple became the only herbalist in the pride and a member of The Council of the Wise.

Soon Maple took an apprentice, Blush. They had a great time learning together, but unfortunately Maple passed away before teaching Blush everything she knew.
