Other lions in your pride used to tease Beira about their weird appearance, until they started a rumor that they were favored by the spirits. Nobody wanted to mess with that.
The sun glistened off of Beira's fur, and you told them how attractive they looked today. If they blushed, you couldn't see it.
In Scottish folklore, Beira is recognised as the Queen of Winter. In other cases she is said to have built mountains intentionally, to serve as her stepping stones. She carries a hammer for shaping the hills and valleys, and is said to be the mother of all the goddesses and gods. Beira was a one-eyed giantess with white hair, dark blue skin, and rust-colored teeth.
Beira was gifted life and born into the loving wintry dens of Skadi's mountainous Kingdom. When Skadi looked upon her new litter, her eyes darted towards the anomalous cub, as she softly mewed into her motherโs side. With realisation, Skadiโs mouth fell agape at the presence of the pale white snowball before her- a deep intuition cursing through the Queen. โShe must be a gift from the gods!โ Exclaimed the Queen, gazing lovingly at her daughters as word travelled fast about the โpale oneโsโ birth. Whilst most lionesses gazed at Beira with confusion and disgust, Skadi reprimanded those who were disobedient, and who maliciously gossiped about the hours old cub; she only wanted love to surround the little baby nestled into her side. As Beira grew older, she found herself attached to the Cave of Dreams, putting herself on the path to becoming a broodmother. Her beauty blossoms with every passing day, and with her Mother's encouragement, she is to protect the frailest of newborns, giving them life when on the brink. Beira's presence is enough to make the pride swoon, as on Skadi's request, she is to be treated as equal with her mother. Although Skadi is the sole ruler from the tip of Mount Tyr, to the snow laden tundras below, Beira has been known to help create resources and raise the morale of the pride during the everlasting coldness. Beira's willingness to aid her mother (without challenging her for the throne) gives her great recognition throughout their vast territory. With all the newfound adoration, she can not help but doubt the intentions of her pride. Were they truly willing to embrace her rank and importance within the pride, or were they merely tolerating Beira as a ploy to not upset Skadi? She could tell the elders were suspicious of her. Even more so now that she had grown to adulthood. However, they knew better than to challenge Skadi about "the pale one". She daren't hear any wrongdoing on her daughter's behalf. To her, Beira was a miracle. But from the outside perspective of the pride, they can't help but think that she was a sick joke sent by Loki. With time, the pride will come to accept Skadi's precious daughter, but for now, she continues to nurture the new cubs and tell them stories of her tumultuous journey from Odin's great hall.
