Heather and her mother were bought by
Anza for a price of 600 silver beetles in The Trading Center. The mother stayed with her cub for as long as it needed her, and then she left, leaving her daughter under the caretakers' protection.
By the more religious members of the pride, Heather was considered to be a gift from the gods, or even a divine incarnation. Her fur was like no other. It resembled ice reflecting the sunset. Meanwhile Heather considered herself to be just a normal lioness that happened to have a funny pelt color. At first, she liked the special treatment, but over time it turned out to be associated with restrictions. For example, she couldn't play in the mud with other cubs. She was "too special" to get dirty. When she wanted to play-fight with her friends, she was told that she shouldn't risk getting hurt. She was only allowed to stay in the nursery and chase little bugs... However it also ended quickly, when Heather broke a claw while running after some beetle.
Because of all that, Heather decided to sneak out one night. It wasn't easy, as everyone always paid too much attention to her, but after making sure that the whole pride is asleep, she managed to leave the nursery.
She was done with being their "precious little snowflake". She wanted to leave the pride's territory and find her mother. She knew that it won't be easy, her mother left months ago, she was probably on the other side of the world by now!
Heather walked all night. With every step, she felt that she's closer to her mother. Soon the night was over and the sun began climbing the sky...
Heather, proud of her strenght, decided to rest for a while.
She fell asleep, and when she woke up... She was in the nursery again! It turned out that Heather, despite wandering all night, hadn't even left the pride's territory. The morning patrol found her sleeping near The Den.
The caretakers scolded her for leaving the nursery alone at night, but then they asked why she did it? When Heather told them that it's because of the way they treat her, they understood her frustration and apologized.
After that, they began treating her like any other cub. Of course they still had to point out how beautiful her coat is from time to time, but they were way more subtle about it.
When Heather started her training, she turned out to be an excellent fighter. She moved with such grace and speed, and her attacks were delivered flawlessly. She decided to focus on training her talent, which made her neglect hunting a little.
When her time to join a hunting party came, Heather joined The Star Hunters.
Blizzard, the leader of the party, often hunted alone, which allowed Heather to keep focusing on fighting.
Anza noticed her talent, and decided to make her a fighting mentor.
She was a great teacher, but none of her students managed to win a fight with her. That was until
Amethyst began her training...
She has had a lot of potential since she was a cub. Heather had had her eye on her for a long time, and seeing Amethyst's involvement in her combat training truly impressed Heather.
Soon the younger lioness asked Heather for extra lessons, to which the mentor agreed.
Amethyst kept getting better, and her ambitions grew with her.
Soon she decided to prove herself once and for all, she challenged Heather to a public duel.
The whole pride gathered to watch them fight.
They were fighting for hours, and in the end Amethyst won.
After that, Heather asked Amethyst to become her apprentice. Amethyst happily accepted the offer. Since then she began training to take Heather's place in the future.
Anza's heir,
Snake, once asked Heather to train his apprentice, Hawk. He wanted the young lion to be a good fighter, but his training methods weren't really working in Hawk's case. Heather accepted Snake's request and began the training.
After their first lesson, Heather already knew that it's going to take a while... He was an awful fighter.
It took months, but in the end she managed to make Hawk into a decent fighter. Of course, he still was no match for her, but he was able to win a fight against Snake, and that was already an achievement.
During their training Hawk and Heather got pretty close. After all, they spent lots of time together, and they didn't spent it all training. Sometimes they just needed a little rest at the lake, or a walk to clear their mind.
They both weren't sure when that happened, but they found themselves being in love. Heather was the first to confess. Hawk seemed a little surprised, but he happily accepted her confession and they became mates.
When Anza died and Hawk took over The Lake Land Heather became his queen. Due to her new duties she decided to give up her old role and gave it to Amethyst.
Unfortunately, it wasn't long before Heather noticed that her husband had changed since he became king. He didn't care about his subjects at all, treated the lion cubs badly, demanded respect despite being a terrible ruler. Heather couldn't stand him, even though he was still respectful, kind, and lovable to her. She even started to think about leaving him, but then Snake, who became Hawk's advisor, asked her to talk to him.
Snake, despite being only an advisor, actually ruled the pride by directing the king. He tried his best to make Hawk a good ruler, but he knew that if he was gone, Hawk would ruin the pride. To prevent this from happening, he asked Heather to replace him as Hawk's guide in the future. Heather accepted the offer and began to learn from Snake in secret.
Sadly, Snake soon passed away. Heather took his place as Hawk's advisor, but she wasn't doing very well. The king would not listen to her. Now that no one was controlling him, he began to make radical changes that no one liked. Heather tried to reason with him, but nothing worked, and the king seemed to lose patience with her.
Heather had to deprive him of power. She gathered the pride and stood before the king.
They told him to give up his crown and leave, or fight them all at once. He had no chance to survive that kind of battle...
He had only four lionesses on his side -
Lavender Mist,
Soul On Fire,
Russet and
Marble.
Hawk valued his life more than his honor, so he decided to step down as the king.
Oleander, his heir, took over the Pride. He was kind enough to allow Hawk to stay, because he knew that the pathetic lion won't survive on his own. The condition was that Hawk was to eat last, respect everyone around him, and humbly work for the benefit of the pride. It was a big insult to Hawk's ego, but he agreed. His old allies were given similar choices. They could stay, accept the new king and devote themselves to the work, or leave and never come back. They all chose to stay.
Becasue the pride had a new ruler, Heather wasn't a queen anymore. However, she did not lose her importance in the pride! Oleander asked her to be his advisor, to which Heather gladly agreed.
