Porcelain was adopted by Valentino, he saw a free spirit in Porcelain. She at first gained her name from a traveling shaman, a lioness released from the captivity of the long-pawed ‘humans’. It was based upon her appearance, but later she managed to get herself injured fairly easily.
Seeking to prove herself, she set out on an adventure. She will always have a home at her adopted pride, but she wants to make a name for herself.

Porcelain walked away from her familar sandy desert oasis through the savanna. Multiple days, a week, and then a MONTH passed. She followed trails and pathways she had NEVER seen before.
After nights of scavenging and weeks on the move, the land became alien to her. Late one evening as her paws became tired she decided to look for a place to bed down for the night.
She looked away. One thing was for sure. She was lost!
Long Gone were the familar dusty plains of her adopted home pride. This territory was verdant and lush. Full of unfamiliar flora and hostile fauna. The ground was WET, so wet the it squished beneath her feet.
The mud between her toes felt oddly soothing on them.
She was in a swampy marsh. In places as she moved the water would go from slightly covering her paws to chest deep! This was unlike any land she was accustomed to.
The steamy air was fragrant. Porcelain’s lips curled in a flehmen response. The earthy essence of the swamp had a distinctly pungent odor. The smell of lions.
Anxiously Porcelain’s heart skipped a few beats. She was young. A pride might take offense to her presence. She cowered low to the ground, attempting to keep a low profile.
It was no use. Her white, pink, and blue fur made her stick out in the reeds.
Nearby a menacing rumble made the young lioness jump! Spinning around Porcelain found herself facing a LARGE Rainbow, Zebra Striped lion!
“Lose your way Outlander?” The large male asked in a low gravelly tine.
Intimidated by the unknown male’s size Porcelain sank low, half rolling to expose her chest submissively.
“I have been on an adventure for many days.” The small adolescent replied continuing to cower.
“An adventure eh?” The large male gave a quizzical look. “Judging by the sand in your ears you have been traveling south for quite some time little one.”
“Yes sir.” Porcelain kept her eyes averted as she spoke.
“What is your name child?” The large male asked.
“P-Porcelain.” She replied with a nervous stutter.
“Porcelain…” The giant looked the yearling over with a thoughtful expression. “I am Omderion, King to the southern branch of The Hidden Marsh Pride.. If you would like a den to rest those weary paws please feel free to follow me.”
*KAHAHAHAHAH*
The sound of a Heyna cackling nearby made Porcelain look around. In the distance she could see the shining eyes of a clan of hyeanas. A fearful shiver wracked the adolescent’s body.
“Don’t take too long to decide.” The male said with a low rumbling growl. “We aren’t safe here.”
Omderion let out a roar which shook Porcelain’s bones and the hyenas scattered.
“That won’t chase them off long.”
In the distance Omderion’s roar was answered. First from the north, then to the south and west of their positions. This pride had to be large. Otherwise patrolling males would not be answering from a multitude of directions.
As the duo walked a young male joined them. He looked nearly Identical to Omderion. Except for a smattering of Esker spotting down his flank.
“Father.” The young male greeted rubbing his slightly smaller body down the length of the king’s.
“Dear boy.” Omderion replied licking his son across the bridge of his nose. “Please meet Porcelain… a traveler from the desert.”
Curious eyes flicked to the half grown female. The submale nodded in acknowledgment to the cub.
“You found her at the right time.” The submale replied as hyenas cackled in the distance. “We are being followed by a huge clan and there is another clan between us and the pride father. They are all starving and would make short work of…” The submale trailed off and glanced over at Porcelain.
“I will have you know I have been on my own for over a month!” Porcelain hissed indignantly. “I can handle a hyena or two.”
“Can you handle more than 10 of them?”
“Uh well-”
“Didn’t think so.” The submale replied. “Nothing against you, but no cub could. So, unless you want to end up Lion Meat we need to run the gauntlet and survive being hunted by no less than 20.”
“20!?!” Porcelain gasped in horror.
“Two large clans have joined together due to The Great Hunger. They are so desperate for food they are hunting anything that moves. Lions, other hyenas, Rhinos… Since the herds migrated they will take on ANYTHING short of a Musking Bull Elephant.”
Porcelain cast a nervous glance around. From the better part of 100 meters away there were sets of eyes which glowed at the trio through the darkness. Only the cast of the moonlight gave away their positions. The cub’s heart started to skip beats as she longed for the safety of her mother.
“Easy now.” The Zebra Striped Albino King purred soothingly. “We will get you out of here.”
*Kahahahaha*
Porcelain took a calming breath. A determined look found her face. The tiro advanced forward. The hyenas held their ground. They were bellowing and whooping in aggression toward the trio.
Stealing her nerves the adolescent walked between the two males. She felt positively tiny between them. But, she felt oddly confident.
The young heir let out a loud, bone shaking, roar! This roar was answered in a loud chorus. The hyenas eye-shine flickered as their heads flipped from us to directly behind them.
*Kreeee
A hyena screamed in pain and the sound of growling snarls filled the air. The trio broke into a run. Before the hyenas could recover from the prides mass ambush the trio was on them.
Porcelain stood back from the fighting, observing the chaos. No less than 60 lions had showed up and attacked the Hyenas from the behind. There was a GIANT Magpie male holding a large hyena in his jaws.
With a shake of his head he dropped the carcass and turned rapidly. His claws sank into a flanks of another hyena, dragging it to his mouth.
Yiiiiipe!
The hyena let out one final dying yip.
Porcelain blinked casting her gaze around the battle field. Hyenas laid everywhere. Many were now starting to run. Gone was their bravado.
*FWUMP*
Something collided with Porcelain’s flank. She was knocked over. Startled, her claws and teeth found purchase into, well something.
*Kreeee!*
A hyena let out a pained scream. The smell of the animal fueled Porcelain’s sudden fury. Her teeth sank into the creature’s throat and her back feet rabbit kicked into the hyenas soft underbelly.
Her teeth were still too small…
Her jaws were still too weak…
The hyena was struggling. SCREAMING in pain. But, it was starting to pull away.
GRRRRRRWLLL
From above Porcelain had unexpected assistance. An adolescent male jumped onto the hyenas back. The hyena let out one final mournful-
Yeeeee
The submale shook his head violently and the creature went limp. As the submale backed up he drug the hyena carcass from Porcelain. The small lioness was still growling.
“That was Bad Ass.” The submale dropped the hyena and was looking down at Porcelain.
The adolescent righted herself, looking up at the adolescent male. He was a Green Striped Magpie with Rosettes. He was a near copy of one of the extremely large males, except for somehow more handsome.
The lions roared in triumph at their victory. Porcelain found herself roaring happily too.
“Im Duvanion II” The rosetted magpie adolescent introduced himself. “I am the heir of the Northern Bend of the Hidden Marsh Pride.”
***
Porcelain stayed with Omderion in the southern Delta of the Hidden Marsh for 4 months. She practiced hunting with the lionesses and would wrestle with the other adolescents to practice fighting.
Eventually, Porcelain felt more confident with her skills. She no longer feared the hyenas. Young Duvanion II and Porcelain would hunt them, using the squealing hyenas to train.
Porcelain eventually grew restless. Duvanion II could see it in her eyes. After 3 1/2 months these two had grown close. He knew she would depart soon so he set to work.
After 2 weeks the night finally came. Duvanion II presented Porcelain with a banana leaf wrapped gift.
“I know you are about to sneak off.” He said watching her unwrap his gift. “Please take this and remember me fondly. If you are ever in the marsh again please visit.”
With the assistance of BM: Acacia Duvanion II had taken the pelt of their FIRST joint hyena kill. The one he had helped Porcelain kill the night they first met. The pelt had been turned into a plush fur collar.
“Did you make this?” Porcelain asked putting on the collar.
“I had some help.”
“It is beautiful.” She said nuzzling his cheek. “I will treasure it ALWAYS.”
Porcelain wrapped a paw around Duvanion II’s shoulder. They stayed nuzzling one another, purring. Eventually the two youngsters separated.
The last sound that porcelain heard was Duvanion II’s sniffing as she walked off into the marsh.

After a few months of travel Porcelain ran into the Green Zebra, Rainbow Magpie known as Duvanion g2 Magpie. He looked like his heir, withouth the rosettes.
“Care to rest those paws Traveler?” The gruff king asked.
It had been 2 months since she had a den to rest in. Two months since she had a good meal.
Porcelain’s stomach rumbled. Her paws were tired. She was tired.
“Please.” The young lioness answered.
“Follow me.” The large, rainbow, magpie nuzzled Porcelain.
Several months pass and Porcelain finds herself pregnant. The magpie king has made sure she has a plush nest and all of the food she needs.
It was time. After a long night and a hard labor Porcelain gave birth. She had 2 beautiful daughters. One favored their father. The other favored her.

Lore: (sorry my fanfic writer side kicked in, I only realized how long this is after I wrote it 😭
Months had passed. Porcelain's cubs had grown into playful, mischievous cubs on the brink of adolescence. They would need her no longer. No matter how much Porcelain loved her cubs, her paws itched to hunt, to feel the dusty ground beneath her feet and the scorching sun illuminating her fur. She would always have the calling of a traveler. And with a tearful farewell to her cubs and their father and continued her journey.
As she walked and walked, the scenery began to change. The harsh Serengeti made way to a milder shrubland, before she glimpsed a forest in the distance.
"I've come this far?" Porcelain exclaimed to herself, shocked at just how far she had come. The forest was a mystical place that she had only heard about in her father's stories as a cub.
She shivered in fear at the thought of the unknown threats lurking among the trees. But there was no way through except to continue into the forest. She would have to be brave. She was no longer an adolescent, and if she had fought off an army of hyenas in her youth, she could face this challenge now.
As she entered the forest, fear and doubt began to force its way into her thoughts. She wasn't used to the gloomy atmosphere and humid forest air. The beams of sunlight filtering through the thick treetops was nowhere near enough light for her to hunt. The mushy foliage on the forest floor stuck to her paws and made them feel heavy.
As night began to fall, panic began to wash over her. Without the moon and stars, she could see nothing. So she forced herself to stay awake and face darkness of the night, not willing to let her guard down for even a second.
Several days and nights passed, and she felt herself deteriorating from sleep deprivation and the constant paranoia she was in. She finally allowed herself to rest, shakily curling up by the roots of a tree.
"Just a few minutes, then I'll get up and continue." She thought, as she just rested her eyes for a moment...
She awoke to a shadowy silhouete standing before her. For a moment, her groggy head couldn't process the threat standing before her.
"Are you alright?" The figure said, and all of a sudden her survival instincts kicked in as she jumped up and let out a fearsome roar. As her eyes adjusted, she could see a sleek and majestic lion standing before her. She mistook them for a lioness for a moment, but quickly realized her mistake when she saw his flowing, glossy mane.
"No need to be frightened! You look exhausted and awfully skinny, why don't you come have some food and rest in my pride awhile?" The stranger said.
Her relief at meeting another lion here was enough to blot our any suspicions she had, and she shakily rose to her paws and followed the mysterious lion into the night.
They soon reached a clearing where dazzling moonlight illuminated every edge of the camp like a spotlight, revealing several lionesses around the camp resting and sharing a meal. Several heads turned in her direction, but she could sense nothing but curiosity from them.
"Umm... Where is the king? I'd like to explain to him who I am..." She whispered to her escort. The lion let out a rumbling laugh, and in the moonlight Porcelain noticed powerful muscles under his glossy fur.
"I am Kukunochi, the local king. No need to explain yourself to me, I'll keep you safe until you recover your strength." Kukunochi retreated to his den, leaving Porcelain standing shocked in the clearing.
A soft voice called out, "Come here and eat with me, stranger. No need to fear our king, he is a kind soul at heart, even if he seems otherwise." Porcelain slowly walked over to the lioness, and soon gratefully dozed off with her stomach full for the first time in days.
Time flew past. Before she knew it, she had been in Kukunochi's pride for four months. She began to grow restless again, and knew it was time to continue her journey. The pride gathered to bid her farewell, and Kukunochi walked out from among the crowd of lionesses.
Porcelain caught a glimpse of sadness in his mist-colored eyes as he presented a small flower hairpin to her.
"Keep this gift, Porcelain. I hope you remember my pride in your travels. Remember you'll always have a place within my pride, if you choose to return." They exchanged farewells, and Porcelain ser off, leaving the clearing behind her.

A few weeks had passed before her last farewell, or at least she thought so. In the constant travel, it was hard to count the days. She had been thinking a lot. About the shaman who once found her, about Valentino and, the pride she considered was her home, about Duvanion II, about the father of her children, about her 2 beautiful daughters who she left behind, who she hadn't seen in who knows how many months. She thought about the kind people she had met in her travels, the ones who now didn't let her sleep. Porcelain was no stranger to the restless nights, sometimes because of paranoia, and sometimes because of the existencial dread that now invaded her. And of course, today, she would stay up thinking about the past, the present, and the future.
''I started traveling when I was just a cub, when will I stop?''
''I wonder how much my cubs have grown...''
Her head started to hurt, probably due to a combination of overthinking and no sleep, and so she finally decided to shake her head and try to stop thinking, give herself a rest. Porcelain looked around. She was in a cozy lake, under a tree, a bit uncovered but also really comfortable place. She let herself breathe and enjoy the moment for a little. In no time, she was finally able to sleep.
Her sleep was heavier than she imagined, though, because when she finally opened her eyes, the sun was burning her, and soon realized she wasn't in the same place as before. She was moving, but not on her own. The lioness immediately jumped and tried to land on her paws, making the bigger lions carrying her scream in surprise as they saw her move so much despite her state. She was currently thin, even a little malnourished, and her lack of sleep was terribly obvious. The males stared for a little as she assumed a defensive position, she didn't know who these strangers were. Finally, the bigger one, a light colored primal with a beautiful mane hit the smaller one with his body, a sign to get him to talk. The smaller one, a dark colored lion with a pink, diabolic mane, with scars and a beard covering his face, got the sign and started mumbling.
''Uhm, are you okay, young lady? We saw you all alone, we thought you were... gone... for a second.''
Porcelain did not leave her stance, growling as she backed down slowly. ''Where were you taking me? Don't you know it's rude to kidnap others?''
''We weren't trying to kidnap you, really! Look, we just saw you all tired and wanted to help. You don't need to come, but, you look like you haven't seen a good meal in weeks, no offense.''
The lioness finally decided to stop being defensive and listen to the strangers. While she didn't fully trust them, it was true that she hadn't eaten a proper meal in a while, and it was starting to become a problem. Quietly, she approached the males once again, now willing to walk with them. They walked without speaking for a little, but she decided to break the awkward silence. ''So... My name is Porcelain. What are your names?''
The bigger one talked for the first time. He wasn't much of a talker, clearly, but he was happy to respond. ''My name is Sunny, and this little guy here is Amberfang.'' He said with a big smile.
Amberfang quickly responded, hitting the primal with his body playfully but also a bit annoyed. ''You big oaf! You know I'm not ''little'', you guys are just too big!''
The pair continued bickering playfully as they walked, and after a short time, they finally arrived to where the rest of the pride was. ''Follow us, the king will want to meet you.'' Said Amberfang.
The place had a weird, but sweet and warm area around it. It seemed like an extremely young pride, with lots of cubs running around and playing, and beautiful and young lionesses running after them. A few of them even said hi to the intruter she was, before continuing. Seeing so many youngsters reminded her of her children, and she let a sad sigh come out of her lips.
She slightly shifted in surprise when Sunny roared loudly, calling their king, as he wasn't outside like he normally was. Soon enough, a big figure came out of one of the caves with a couple cubs traveling in his back while laughing. He was a young, ginger primal, probably around her own age. How could a king so young take care of a pride so big as this one? Sure, he was big, but...
Her thoughts were interrupted by the words of the king. He smiled at her kindly while he approached slowly, not taking long to speak while giving her all of his attention. ''Hello, miss! Are you all by yourself? My, it sure isn't easy to travel on one's own. When was the last time you ate?'' The primal called a pretty, pink lioness in the distance, who was currently looking out for some small cubs. ''Peach, darling! Could you get this young lady something to eat, please? You're the best!'' He said as the lioness obeyed happily. Porcelain was asked a question after the other, but she couldn't bring herself to interrupt the big guy. He seemed excited. As the pink lioness searched the hoard for some food, Porcelain took the oportunity to speak. ''I am a travelling lioness, I go around, trying to make a name for myself, you know?'' The king seemed interested as he replied. ''Ah, another travelling miss! We have one just like you, she even came with a cub. You guys must be really tough, huh?'' He said with a light, genuine laugh.
''You must be tired. Why don't you rest a little, eat well, and make yourself at home? You can stay as long as you want, we're happy to help, really.'' Said as he finally let the small cubs on his back down.
A few hours later, she had found herself a nice place to sleep. The lionesses seemed to be kind, as they received her with open arms in the main cave, separated from the nursery so full of youngsters. Now that she was well fed and rested, she felt a little better about her situation, but some thoughts hadn't completely stopped. She now layed awake, late, as she tried to figure herself out. However, she was interrupted by the silent but big figure that moved in the shadows, in her direction. She quickly realized it was the king, carefully passing the lionesses, trying to not wake everyone up. He sat in front of her, waiting for her approval, or something. When Porcelain laid her guard down and moved slightly towards the king, he finally started talking.
''Hello, miss. I was just checking on ya. You see, I'm not trying to be nosy, and I know I haven't even properly introduced myself... My name is Khal, by the way- But I saw it this morning, this concern in your eyes. Like something's bothering you. Are you okay, miss?'' He said, truly concerned.
Porcelain found herself shocked. She had never voiced her concerns to anyone else, and so she felt odd knowing they where this obvious. Or maybe Khal was good reading others... It was probably obvious anyway. She hesitated a little, but managed to let some words out. ''I just feel... Like I don't know what I'm doing. I know where my home is, but I can't help but think if I'll be able to come back there. If I'll ever be able to see the people I met while travelling again.
Khal listened attentively, his expression softening as he understood the weight of Porcelain's words. He nodded thoughtfully before responding, "It's natural to feel lost at times, especially in a journey as unpredictable as life. Sometimes, the path ahead seems uncertain, and we question our choices. But you know, everyone has her own journey, and it's not always about reaching a specific destination. It's about the experiences, the growth, and the bonds we make along the way. Perhaps your journey has brought you here for a reason."
She pondered his words, feeling a sense of warmth in Khal's empathy. "It's just that... I've left behind so much, and I don't want to lose the connections I've made. But at the same time, I fear I might never find my way back."
"Life has a funny way of bringing things full circle.'' The king said softly. ''The bonds you've forged will endure, and who knows what the future holds? Maybe you'll return to your pride with a wealth of experiences and stories to share. Or perhaps you'll discover a new home anywhere else. Whatever happens, take your time, and enjoy it"
Porcelain felt a sense of comfort in Khal's words, and a genuine smile crossed her face. ''You're right... This is just what I wanted, after all. This is... what I was born for, I think. I just lost myself a little along the way... Or maybe I'm finding a new me. Either way, I'm grateful for what I've lived.'' The lioness stopped for a little, ''Thank you for listening.''
Khal nodded, "You're always welcome. Get some rest now, tomorrow is a new day, maybe I can show you around a little.''
As Porcelain settled back into her resting spot, she couldn't help but feel calm after so many thinking. The night passed peacefully, and with Khal's assurance, she began to see her journey with a renewed perspective.
Then, 4 more months passed, and after an emotional farewell, she was finally happy and ready to keep her journey going, who knows where she might end up next? As she was leaving, a purple starling decided that her loved fur collar was a nice place to hang out, and so it never left.

Lore:
Porcelain’s steps were slow and shaky, weakened by the grueling journey she had undergone to reach this point. Her body was drained of energy, and her breathing was shallow and haggard. She was feeling as though she was nearly at her breaking point, her ribs visible through her skin and her paws and mind tired.
This land seemed almost as starved as she was of any prey, and the air was thick with the scent of death and decay. She was no stranger to being lost at this point, having traveled so far, but..something about this place seemed more than off, and she couldn't help but feel as though she was being watched.
Her vision was impeded by a thick, obscuring fog which prevented her from seeing more than a few feet in front of herself. Her ears, however, swiveled in all directions, picking up the telltale sounds of movement in the surrounding area, indicating the presence of others nearby. She listened carefully for any hint of what or who it might be, but her visibility in the fog was so limited that she could not tell whether the sounds were approaching or moving away from her, and this caused her great anxiety.
She had been walking for what felt like hours, yet it felt like she hadn’t made the slightest bit of progress in finding her way out. Each step was filled with frustration and uncertainty, a feeling that continued to grow as each minute passed with no end to the fog in sight.
She had even begun to wonder if she had somehow died at some point in her journey, if this is what the gods had dangled in front of her so many times before as she traveled, when she had been on the verge of death.
Is this really what they had in store for her?
As she was lost in her thoughts, the sounds of movement around her had abruptly ceased; bringing her back to reality and filling her with unease.
Her senses were heightened as she stood there frozen in her tracks and held her breath, straining her ears to listen for even the most imperceptible sound or hint of movement from nearby. She was left with a sense of foreboding and uncertainty, waiting for either the noises to resume, or to meet the one who had been following her in the first place.
A moment passed.
Then, nothing.
She took a deep breath, raking her mind for an ounce of courage, then began walking again.
As she took her first few steps, a dark figure suddenly pounced on her from within the fog, pinning her down hard into the dirt. She gasped and let out a growl as her back hit the cold ground, using what was left of her strength to kick up against the offender’s stomach, landing the hit and causing them to yowl in pain as her claws dug in deep.
“Fucking bitch!”
The obscured figure spat and hissed in response, a deep female’s voice, layered with malevolence and rage that she had even dared to fight back.
The battle for control in the situation began, the mysterious lioness struggling against Porcelain to keep her pinned, and Porcelain refusing with everything in her to give up. This was her life, and nobody was going to take it from her.
Having enough, the lioness loosened her hold on Porcelain for only a moment, her ears pinned back against her head as she angrily, and with intent, aimed a vicious smack at Porcelain’s face; her claws tearing into Porcelain’s eye socket, causing her to scream and thrash in agony, giving the lioness above her an advantage, her hold on Porcelain now inescapable.
“How does it feel? To be so pathetic, to be so weak, to be dying beneath me?”
The lioness spoke, every word coated with venom as Porcelain regained her composure, now realizing only one of her eyes could open, and that the other had gone dark. Blood was dripping down her face and soaking her fur, the sight from her eye having been blotted out by the attack, puddles of thick crimson pooling up on her face and mixing into the dirt underneath them as it dripped down in perfect streams.
Porcelain drifted in and out of consciousness as she lost more and more blood, her body so weak and fragile as she lay there, half-listening and half-praying for this to be over with as the lioness spoke. She didn’t want to die, not like this.
She wanted to return home one day, to tell Valentino of her adventures, to make a proper name for herself.
And this?
This was no way to go.
Starving, left in her own blood and the dirt, far away from home.
She had imagined her death before, but had imagined it to be surrounded by loved ones. Sharing stories and wisdom in her final moments with the little ones of her pride, seeing the spark in their eyes that she had once had for adventure and leaving behind a legacy for the next brave soul to continue where she had left off.
The lioness above her grinned a wicked smile, her muzzle coated in dried blood and her eyes wild and full of hunger. She watched as the lioness readied herself to plunge her canines into her throat, closing her eyes and slipping into nothingness as she heard another voice in the distance.
-Later-
Porcelain awoke with a sharp gasp, her singular eye struggling to adjust to the darkness surrounding her. She smelled a faint hint of fresh kill, and slowly backed up until she pressed against the wall of what appeared to be a cave.
Her vision adjusted over time, and she could now get a better look at her surroundings, startled as she saw a large male sitting in front of her.
His expression was apologetic, a strange turn of events compared to the last face she had seen.
She winced as she felt the sting of the fresh wound, the memories of what had happened flooding back all at once. The attack, the blinding, how she had felt the cold grip of death itself and believed she had truly died, then and there.
"Who... who are you!?" She demanded, speaking through gritted teeth, still very much on guard as she eyed him wearily. He kept his distance, and bowed his head, making Porcelain flinch in response to his sudden movement.
“Ah, I apologize. I’m Bram. I’m..so sorry.” He spoke almost meekly, a look of guilt on his face now, as if he felt like what had happened was his fault.
Porcelain tilted her head, confused by his sudden apology.
“What do you mean you’re sorry?” She said.
The male, that she now knew as Bram, shuffled uncomfortably from paw to paw as he sat there, his head hanging low as he took a deep breath.
“About Vaeleth, my granddaughter. She’s the one who..”
He trailed off, glancing back up at her, his sad eyes following the movement of the deep gashes on her face, her eye completely clouded over, looking in utter disbelief of how cruel the attack had been
“She’s the one who blinded you.” He spoke plainly after a moment.
Silence followed and Porcelain inhaled, then exhaled slowly. Her mind was racing, she had so many questions but..first, food. She recalled having smelled something fresh that made her stomach twist and ache, silently glancing around the room until Bram noticed what she was searching for.
“Oh! You must be hungry! I.. – Well, my right hand, Milo. He tracked down something for you to eat, after seeing you were so skinny. That boy, he worries about everyone but himself..” He said fondly, clearing his throat after a moment of silence, and then cautiously stood up, moving slowly so as to not startle Porcelain, then presented her a fresh hare carcass.
Porcelain couldn’t help but smile.
Not in thanks, but in relief that she would live another day. She reluctantly accepted it, snatching it as he placed it a distance away from himself, allowing her to feel comfortable as she ravaged it and filled her belly.
After she was finished, Bram went on to explain that Vaeleth and his daughter, Crimson, did not speak for him or his pride, and apologized profusely, over and over again.
He explained how he had been trying ever since Crimson was merely a cub to save her, that he still held out hope that the horrible events that she had gone through wouldn’t have a hold on her forever.
That her daughter and his granddaughter, Vaeleth, would soon see the way to redemption as well.
They were his family, and he couldn’t give up on them, no matter how depraved and cruel they could be.
He believed in the good in everyone.
Over the course of the next few weeks Porcelain remained at Bram’s pride as her eye healed over, seeking comfort in Milo and Darling, and keeping her distance from Crimson and her daughter, Vaeleth.
She made lots of friends and acquaintances, and gained weight back rapidly as she fed lavishly, treated as an important guest by the majority of the pride during her stay.
Once she felt strong enough to continue her adventure, she thanked Bram for his kindness, and for saving her from his granddaughter, then continued on her way; the scars a permanent reminder of her time here, written on her body like ink on the pages of a book.

- ARRIVAL -
Porcelain trotted alongside the path towards another territory, grateful for the food she had eaten prior to her leaving. She noticed a sudden odd change in temperature, noticing it had gotten a little colder in the direction she had went in. She began to see the outskirts of the dense forest ahead of her... Though; it's colors were off. The tree barks were more white, in a sense. The leaves glow a faint yellow. It was almost... heavenly.
During her internal debate on whether or not she'd want to try going through that, a silhouette of a lioness, and something much bigger, could be seen approaching her. She seemed a bit cautious, as this could end up exactly how it did last time.
She did not want to lose another eye.
She shifted her stance to one that would prepare her to fight should she need to. Porcelain then noticed one of the silhouettes also shifted their stance. The larger one remained calm, however, and stepped out of the shadows. Porcelain pinned her ears back, now face to face with a muscular lioness. Face to face with a ferus. The one who had also shifted her stance soon followed. A normal..? lioness with a cold glare in her gaze. It appears as if she was about to speak, but the ferus had shushed her.
"...You. What brings you here?" The ferus would ask. Her tone was very much different to her appearance. Maybe Porcelain shouldn't have immediately judged a book by its cover, she'd suppose. She swallowed the lump in her throat before she spoke, "My name's Porcelain... I'm a traveling lioness looking for a new pride to take a temporary stay in..." Despite slight intimidation due to the lioness' size, she spoke clearly, making sure her voice wouldn't shake. The ferus raised an eyebrow.
"..Sheesh, that old madman was right.." The other lioness muttered. The ferus shot her a glare. "Be nice. That 'old madman' is your king, after all. He might put you through some extra work should he see you as being too disrespectful." She'd scowl at the lioness before shifting her attention back to Porcelain. "...My apologies, Cyclone can be a bit much and a bit rude... She's always like that. My name is Zari, and this is Cyclone... as I just stated. Our king has rambled about expecting a travelling lioness to come by with your name. Come, follow us."
The lioness known as Zari smiled at Porcelain, turning to lead her back to the pride. Cyclone had grumbled, also turning to lead her back. Porcelain followed, taking in the scenery. This place looked more and more heavenly as she walked through, she couldn't help but question it.
"...Zari, was it? ...Why does this place look.." Porcelain began, trying to find the right words, before Zari had responded. "..Heavenly? A lot of cubs ask that when they come here. This is Angel's Fall. Zahara is a psychic that was to be claimed 'From the heavens,' so the world around him just seemed to... adjust to that vision, i suppose. You get used to it after awhile."
Zari continued foward, soon enough, coming to a clearing. A pond reflected with the golden light from the sun in the middle of it. Lionesses, lions, and cubs were scattered around the place. The cubs mostly stayed around three lionesses and one lion, which she'd assume were the broodmothers... and maybe the lion helped watch? Another section of lionesses were discussing hunting strategies or looking after their own cubs. In the middle, just before the pond, a tall tree sat. The bottom seemed to appear as a den... and a den it was. A lion seemed to walk out of it, his wings stretched high as he spotted Porcelain. He made his way over to her, a kind expression on his face. "You must be Porcelain!" He purred, greeting her. Porcelain calmed her nerves seeing how kind the king was. "Yes, that's me."
Zahara stole her away from the two lionesses, showing her around and describing the places in the clearing to her. "Would you like to stay with the hunters or broodmothers?" He asked, letting Porcelain decide. She assumed the hunters would be more plentiful, so she requested to stay with the hunters for her temporary stay. He'd walk her to the hunter's den, before leaving her off to do her own thing.
These four months wouldn't bad, she'd hope.
Porcelain had begun to settle down for the night, it was getting late and she wanted some sleep. Then she noticed Cyclone glaring at her through the entrance.
It was eerie.
".. Hello? Can I help you?" Porcelain questioned, but to no avail. All the lioness did was half-toss a carcass her way and turn to go off. No other words exchanged.
Porcelain began to eat the carcass when a lioness padded in. She was a primal, but not a ferus like Zari. She looked way older than the rest of the pride.
"Hello, darling... I'd like to personally apologize on behalf of Cyclone. She's a cold one, but I assure you she's got the best intent of the pride at heart. I came here because I wanted to get to know you better. She approached, sitting across from the lioness. Porcelain learned that this lioness was named Shira, and that she had come here not too long ago. They talked until Porcelain truly realized how late it was, Shira would excuse herself and go back to the brood mother den. Porcelain, however, would properly make herself comfortable, finally resting for the night
-R1-
All she knew was it was early. Birds were chirping loudly as she awoke, A bunch of cubs seemingly surrounding her. They were interested in the traveling lioness. A month had passed since her first arrival, she fit into the clan well. Three more lionesses had joined the pride, and three had left. She was sad to see them go, but that just had to happen sometimes. One of the newer lionesses were also a traveling lioness like her, and due to that, Porcelain bonded with Black Glaze a lot. They chatted often and grew very close, and by extension, she grew closer to Zari as well.
The cubs ran into the den and pounced onto Porcelain excitedly, trying to get her to follow them. Eventually, giving in, she did, to find Zari in a mess of cubs and flowers.
"...Sorry. Shore, one of the broodmothers, left and I have to try taking care of them til they found one to replace her... I wanted to show them a craft but they insisted we make it with you." She smiled awkwardly, moving over for Porcelain to join her, to which Porcelain did. They chatted, and did the craft with the cubs. It turned out beautifully.
"We should let Porcelain have this!" One of the cubs yelled, to which the other ones unanimously agreed. Zari helped put the craft onto her. One of the smaller cubs approached Porcelain. "I think it looks very nice on you." She mewed. Zari nodded and made final adjustments. The african flower ornaments looked stunning with the hyena pelt from one of her earliest prides.
She'd spend the rest of the day watching after the cubs with Zari
-R2-
It had been... Surely an eventful day
Lionesses were gossiping about the king, Zahara, who had fallen incredibly ill out of nowhere. Porcelain watched as an adolescent trailed behind him as he weakly stumbled to the clearing. The adolescent would have his tail raised high
And not long later, it'd be announced Zahara had passed.
She'd pay respects and continue on like normal
... She was starting to get antsy. She felt as if it's almost time to go to a new pride soon.
Two more months. She seemed caught up in her thoughts, not talking to anyone much that day other than Black Glaze.
R3 + R4
Porcelain was getting antsy, and the new king knew. It was time for her to go somewhere else now. With a heavy heart, she ate her final meal and played with the cubs one last time. She'd approach the king, tell her it was her time to go, and he nodded, and gathered the pride to wish her well as she heads off.
It was time for Porcelain to explore a new pride.
