While Mending was out hunting with Snare when she stumbled upon a pale and golden lion pacing the edge of the Grove's territory. Immediately on alert, Mending approached her, Snare slithering up her leg and draping himself across her back protectively. It wasn't until they were nearly upon the lioness that Mending realized that she knew the lion in front of them: her older sister, Gilded Dreams. Surprised to see her, Mending asked her what she was doing away from her pride and was shocked to learn that Gilded Dreams had left to find her - well, the Grove.
Gilded Dreams had been having visions of the Grove for moons, being urged there by some unknown force until she eventually gave in and wandered where the moon led her until she eventually stumbled across the Grove. Meeting with Dominate Beast and Okuta, Mending vouched for her sister and stated that she would take care of her until the Archdruids knew they could trust her. They wouldn't have to wait long, however, as it was during the first night in the Grove that Gilded Dreams was visited in her dreams by a golden sphinx.
The sphinx introduced itself as Sphíngō and stated its intentions to bond with Gilded Dreams's soul so that it may enter the mortal realm and experience the world as, well, a mortal would. Though it was blunt and assertive in its words, it refused to bond the lion unwillingly and had called her to the Grove to speak with her plainly where it could not outside of the territory. Curious about the creature and the soul-bonds she learned from the Archdruids, Gilded Dreams accepted.
When she awoke the next morning, Gilded Dreams had a golden cub curled against her belly.
Dominate Beast had questions for the both of them - many questions - and Sphíngō was all too eager to ask some of its own. It, Gilded Dreams, and the Archdruid Father can be found conversing deep into the night about anything and everything and nothing at all.
It was Sphíngō who urged Gilded Dreams back out of the Grove in search of a sire for a cub that would carry on its legacy. After days of searching, the pair came across Amunet, the Reborn, who agreed to sire a litter for Gilded Dreams. It was after the conception that Sphíngō did... something to Gilded Dreams, some sort of ritual to bless the child that she would have. The sphinx took care of the soon-to-be mother when they returned to the Grove and helped Redwood Lullaby deliver the sole cub.

• Gilded Dreams greets you quietly, flinching every time you make a sudden move.
• Gilded Dreams was watching you intently as you told her your plans for watching the border tomorrow. She seems unconvinced you can pull it off, however. Sigh.
