Malaika

Malaika means ‘angel’, and she is well named. Born blind, Malaika has had a difficult life, but faces each day with grace and kindness. She joins the Kalahari Pride in her ninth year, and quickly settles as a broodmother, helping look after the numerous cubs of the Pride. She is very well-loved for her compassion and generosity.

First litter:
1. Akerele ~ male, kept.
2. Matimba ~ female, kept.

Second litter:
1. Walinzi ~ 794225644116 female, chased at age 2.1

~Malaika was having trouble making her way past a branch someone had put in her regular path. You approached her and gently guided her around it.

~You asked how Malaika always manages to find you in the Den. They answered that you smell strongly of you. Was that... a compliment?

~Malaika asks if you have invented any new, adorable cub names yet.

~When you greet her, Malaika makes sure to remind you to visit everyone else in your pride today.

~Malaika twitched her ears as she heard you approach, and leapt to her feet, sniffing you out and rubbing against you.
