Lavender Mist was left under
Anza's protection and given to his pride. She had a different name when she arrived at The Lake Land, but she decided to change it to show that she's starting a completely new life. She chose a name based on her looks - Lavender for her purple fur and Mist for her misty eyes.
Since she joined the Pride, she didn't really care for her relationships with others. She was tired of everyone saying that they are "a one, big family". She wanted to focus on training her abilities. That's because Lavender hoped to become the Lead Huntress one day.
She knew that it won't be easy. First she had to get into The Hunting Masters, which was a dream of many young lions in the pride.
Lavender Mist never really cared for fighting. She was focusing only on the art of hunt and any other skills related to it. She was taking many extra lessons from
Cherrystripe and
Sunset, but she avoided
Tawny's and
Heather's lectures and trainings. She got into trouble for it once or twice, but she didn't really care. All that mattered was her goal.
When she had to join her first hunting party, she just chose one with free space. It didn't matter anyway, this party was just temporary.
She wasn't liked by other members of The Young Blood. It's not like anyone in the party liked each other though...
Lavender was focusing on her goal, she completely ignored the lionesses that she was supposed to work with.
Imeachwa, the party's leader, wasn't a very friendly lion herself, but she was sick of Lavender's attitude. She talked about it with Anza, and soon Lavender was kicked out of the group.
She was devastated. She was supposed to climb the hierarchy, not fall to the bottom of it!
Leaders of other parties tried to invite Lavender to join them, but she harshly rejected all their offers. She decided to hunt by herself. She didn't need anyone else, she was doing great without all these distractions.
What Lavender didn't know, however, was that her mindset eliminated her as a candidate for the next Lead Huntress. She had completely no idea about teamwork, which was one of the most important parts of the Lead Huntress's job.
When King Hawk took over the pride Lavender became one of his biggest supporters. She believed that having a good relationship with the king could help her achieve her goal.
Lavender was Hawk's supporter for his whole time as a king, but he never paid her much attention. Soon his reign ended, and Lavender still was just a huntress. She decided not to try the same thing with the new king. He had a whole pride of supporters, whether she was one of them or not wouldn't change a thing.
