Mother was a lone lioness, a wanderer of sorts. She never stayed long in the prides she visited and she didn't plan on it either, until her paws led her to an odd pride in the middle of no-where. It was run by an older, and greying king who actually played with the cubs instead of batting them away, one who was patient with them instead of impatient, and one who showed the utmost kindness.

She had intended to leave, but she found herself... staying, and approaching Strawbii to ask him he cared about her once more. She had asked this question a week into staying with the pride, and his answer had been a low rumble of laughter followed by assurance. Now as she asked again, his face showed no humour and he looked solemn as he answered in a soft and patient voice that he did indeed care about her, far more than she would ever know. He confided in her during the darkest of nights, where not even the stars shone upon them, that he was going to retire and give the pride over to Promise due to something Oath had said. He told her everything, and she nodded, listening and realizing that this wasn't something he told just anyone, but just her.

He pleaded with her to stay, to help guide the pride so that once he was gone, he would know that it was in good paws. She agreed without hesitation, and became the lead broodmother for the pride and earned her name of 'Mother'.
