The lionesses mother, “Twisted” was a depressed prideless and her father “Twat” was an authoritative and respected King. Their relationship was forbidden yet unknown to anyone but them. Eventually, Twisted bore a litter of Twat’s cubs. He was enraged because she told him that she wasn’t pregnant and pummeled her, accidentally killing her to blunt force. He realized what he had done and realized he had killed his love, the only one he could have ever loved. He had one of the biggest prides with over 35 lionesses, but Twisted was the only one he could’ve ever loved. He picked up their 4 cubs and threw them in the local river. They struggled, one getting caught in a plastic bag, the other was killed by a hungry leopard, another was able to escape the water but while celebrating, was trampled by a herd of migrating buffalo. The last one, fortunately survived. She clung onto a branch that leaned into the water and pulled herself out. She thought her father accidentally threw them in and followed his scent back, the cub was malnourished when it reached his pride. The father glared at the cub, naming her Niraasha, meaning disappointment in Hindi. He then struck the cub across its face, scarring her. A lioness named “Dee Dee” saw what he had did and quickly grabbed the cub, stating that she was leaving with her and that they would find a better pride and home. So they came here, unfortunately Dee Dee passed due to old age. Niraasha found herself while living here, her confidence has sky rocketed and she is a lot happier despite all she has been through.
