Introduction Vara is often quiet and withdrawn, stumbling over her words in conversation and making odd comments that don't typically fit. She often trips over her own paws while hunting if she feels pressured or that someone's watching her, so she sticks to being a chaser, a role where everyone is too focused on the prey to notice her. In may, however, when she steps into the arena, it's like a switch is flipped. She's completely different; a force to be reckoned with. II. Backstory Being among the oldest of the lionesses in the pride, Vara has a bit of life experience. Riddled with old scars and claws that have seen better days, she proves to be a valuable member of Meteor's pride. She was found by Bandit's party on their way back from a hunt, offering the other four help carrying back their kills. Bandit was, of course, suspicious of this offer and initially refused. But Ati happened to notice an open wound running along Vara's side and convinced Bandit to change her mind, just so Ati could help this injured stranger before sending her on her way. When asked about her history, she initially danced around the question or pretended she didn't hear. But with enough prying from both Atlas and Ati, she revealed that she's from a distant king's pride and was thrown out when she lost a battle that she should've won in the championships. So, for nearly a year, she has been wandering and trying to survive on her own, though it's proving to be very difficult. Aster was informed about Vara's situation and immediately spoke to Meteor about letting her stay. It didn't take much convincing to make him agree. Now, she mostly resides in Ati's den to regain her strength between hunts, and she's slowly becoming closer with Atlas after learning she, too, enjoys battling in the arena.
