Branches looked like outstretched fingers desperately reaching to grasp something, anything that wondered past, an ominous silence clouded the air that is interrupted by the rhythmic pounding of footsteps echoing endlessly. Head swaying side to side counterbalancing each step taken the darkness settles in, and soon the only guides back were illuminating fireflies scattered among the vegetation that embraced the dustpath.
Suddenly, the fireflies drop lifelessly to the floor and Loekuu pauses in his tracks, only to find his vision clouded with a thick dust. A surge of panic consumes him as questions flood his mind. What happened to the lights? Where did the dust come from? Could it be caused by the thundering hooves of a stampede that he is soon to be met with?! Is the pride safe? He accelerates swiftly to a trot, and in no time sprinting directly towards his dens.
Dodging and leaping in order to avoid obstacles, he skidded to a halt when finally met with the breakthrough of moonlight that glistened upon hid mane. The realisation of surrounding dust that had an odd shimmer to it rapidly peiced together in his mind.
That silly interstellar!
Finally realising what had occurred, Loekuu shakes out his mane carefully plucking any caught up leaves and snapped twigs and flicking them diagonally. A side glance reassures his theory that this is all just a joke as he is met with a tiptoeing lioness whose pelt harmonised with the projected moonlight, mirroring distant stars and galaxies. Just as she pounces, Loekuu turns his head with the same monotonous tone as before, forced out a sarcastic grin, revealing his razor teeth coated in thick blood, and continues his journey home.
The young lioness is left puzzled, cocking her head sideways and whilst doing so raised an eyebrow, stood awkwardly her front legs on the path, yet her hind legs engrossed by large leaves and grass blades. Eventually coming to terms with the fact she shrugs it of as a dream..
...but was it really just a dream?
