Lys patrolled the outside of her pride, sniffing the ground and twitching her ears. She had to be careful when patrolling or scavenging, rabies has been going around... Thankfully, no one in here pride had been affected too hard. A few lions got minor infections, but they were cured quickly. She had seen a some other animals that were affected, a few of them she would swiftly kill to save them from the pain.
Today she had asked Lure not to follow her, but of course, he complained and then half the pride had heard, and then they tried to convince her not to go alone or to let someone go with her. She hissed at them all, knowing she'd be fine, and yes she was.
Lys laid down under a tree, panting softly. She knew a pond she'd have to go to soon, though later into the months, it still got very hot. She stretched and got up, turning around the sink her claws into the tree trunk, sharpening them. She quickly jerked back when she heard the rusting in the leaves above her. She looked up quickly, seeing a pink bundle of fur, the faint noise of raspy breathing.
