Back story:

Niobe was special. her genes are one of a kind, rare to pass. when she was born she was put on a pedestal because she looked exactly like her mother. she never understood why she was treated so delicate. she wanted to play with the other cubs, but wasn’t allowed. throughout her life she was told she was going to have to have as many cubs as lionly (humanly) possible to be able to pass her one of a kind genes to keep her genetics alive. when she was old enough to have her first litter she failed. her second was pure luck. she had Animus. and animus was her last cub she’d ever have to have as one the genetics passed she’d never be forced to have cubs again, unless she wanted too, so after a while she decided to go out and explore, something she’s never gotten to do. she met a leopon named Barren, barren was different than the lions Niobe knew. she was, what niobe needed in her life. niobe tried her best to impress barren, except she failed a lot, which filled barren with interest.

one day barren decided niobe was okay to be around and they started hanging out, to their surprise they became, mates but couldn’t reproduce, which didn’t bother either of them one bit. they loved that they could be themselves and not have to worry about reproducing for their pride.
