"They're not good enough or pretty enough or strong enough for him and we only have limited territory so he must pick. Some take it personally and some don't. Maven better get lucky, or her cubs will be chased." "That's terrible!" Kinola lashed her tail. "I know I lost my last litter to his claws because they weren't mutated like me. It is just the way it is and it's better when they're young."
