She was born nearly a year after Emperor Haidar took over the valley and found his lost mate Gry. Minna's mother was reluctant to give Haidar any more cubs, fearful of them being forced to participate in the Heir Wars. She was eventually convinced by her eldest daughters, Iben and Aurora, as well as Griselda and Freya. Minna was born alongside her littermates Warin and Talvi, though only Minna and Warin looked like their father the most. Their mother was overprotective of them growing up, convinced Haidar would take them away too young. Minna grew up loving both of her parents though, as her father explained to her and her littermates why her mother was acting like so. When she and her littermates were six months old, their father had Diameter, the leading broodmother, spend significant time with them to counter their mother's influence. Still, Warin and Minna remained awkward, the latter more shy than the former. Minna was asked by her father if she wanted to be an heir, and she said no, knowing her lack of social skills would make it more difficult for herself. She was pleasantly surprised her brother Warin said yes though.
As a princess, not an heir, Minna had certain freedoms. She was still trained to be a good royal, though she didn't have to worry about fighting or anything of that sort unless she truly wanted to learn (which she did not). Instead, Minna spent most of her time visiting the lions living in the Eternal Valley, where Ellil the Eternal and the other immortal lions of the old valley pride lived. She was obsessed with storytelling and often snuck into the marketplace to hear more stories. She often spends her days and nights thinking up stories of her own.
Minna met a ferus primal named Amir one day at the local eatery. She admired the ferus for his arrogance, confidence, and blunt personality as the princess was quite the opposite. Minna ended up pregnant after that night, and was hesitant to tell the ferus. Amir was the Chaotic Empire's Guild Master, in charge of both the spy and assassin divisions of the military. His brother was also Cathal, the Conquest Commander. She feared of forcing him into a match that he did not want, especially since she was an awkward, romantic lioness. Amir turned out to be a good mate though for the princess, as he accepts her for who she is.
