Ki grew up in a small hole in the Nightmare Cliffs, just far enough and stranded enough to where no one knew she existed. Her sister, Fifi, was adamant about keeping her sweet and upbeat sister away from the ruthless Dynasty that had formed its base in the mountains. Ki spent most of her first years in that hole, waiting only for her sister to return and interact with her. Her upbeat personality, however, soon turned into a facade. Her sister had become mean and spiteful in taking care of her and dealing with the dynasty. It only worsened when Fifi was chosen to become the new lover of the war goddess Neith. Ki's innocent and curious commentary kickstarted her sister to beat her frustrations out on her younger sister. Still, Ki tried to maintain her upbeat facade to keep her sister happy. She was terrified of being left alone with no survival skills in the small hovel.

This ended when her sister brought one of the guards who supervised the breeding caverns. These were horrible prisons deep in the cliff where Esfir and Enkidu kept lions to further their plans and build their armies. Fifi admitted to selling out her sister because she was tired of taking care of her, and Ki was soon forced to be part of the breeding projects the gods forced upon so many innocents. Ki was fortunate or unfortunate that she met Cain, Neith's brother and one of the big power gods of the Dynasty, before her next heat hit. She was devastated to learn of her sister's death, even if she had not seen her since she had abandoned her. Ki gained the attention of Cain, her sweet innocence and unassuming appearance capturing his attention. It did not take long for him to claim her for himself, and Ki quickly became accustomed to being his "little bird".
