I would like her back before she turns 8! ———————————————————————— Ursa padded into the king’s cave wearily, nervously wondering what would happen to her. She had ran away from her pride and been caught stealing off a neighboring king’s land. Her half brother and king of the pride Treadway had been quite angry with her, and had called her into his den to discuss what would happen going forward. Treadway was fiddling with a fluffball skull, and when he saw Ursa enter the cave, he yawned, stretched, and sat up. “Ursa,” he boomed, “I do not wish to impose anything too harsh upon you as punishment.” He padded over to Ursa and embraced her. “You’re my sister, and in the end…I do really love ya!” Ursa felt her body relax as he said this, but quickly tensed back up when he ended the embrace and looked at her with serious expression. “But you must learn how to behave within a pride. Father is declining and he needs someone there for him…and if you keep running off simply because you’re bored of pride life, he will die a lonely death wondering where the daughter he loved so much has gone.” Treadway bowed his head in pain. “But no matter,” he huffed. “I have arranged for you to go away and experience life in various prides so that you may learn how to become a functioning pride member, so that Father and I may enjoy your company once more.” He flicked his tail towards the mouth of the cave, where an escort lioness was waiting. “Go now Ursa, your first pride is waiting. May Apedemak be with you.” With that, he turned away, and Ursa slowly padded out of the den, thinking to herself that she may just get the adventure she always hoped for.
