Esfir and Enkidu dreamt of their second child after the latter's resurrection. When he was born, Cain was immediately named the Famine God, one of the four Power Gods his parents needed to exact their revenge. The lion had made his mother starve during her pregnancy, so it was an easy realization of his abilities. He was raised much like his older sister and soon followed in her footsteps. Cain, in turn, learned he was famished in more than only his food appetite. Raised alongside Mot who was known for his exploits with other lions, Cain soon found he could never fulfill his appetites for love, food, or anything else. He tried and left a bloodbath in his wake. His parents, of course, encouraged him as they told him only the death of the Leos and the destruction of the remaining providence pride would suffice.

At barely three years old, Cain learned of his older sister's lover betraying her once again. Cain offered to deliver the news to the sister, as he had only just begun his exploration of the breeding caverns kept secret in the cliffside. It was there that his parents used lions to expand their army, and Cain found the sister, Ki, there quite easily. Her sister had hidden her from the Dynasty to keep her safe for the first seven years of her life but was now forced to be in one of the caverns. Cain thought she was quite plain compared to the others, but she was terrified of everyone and never disobeyed orders. Cain then grew addicted to her, eventually calling her his "little bird" and claiming her for himself.
