As an adolescent, Flamecoat grew closer to her friends, while her father was often busy with patrols. When the king found a submale to take over his duties, he finally spent more time with the pride. Flamecoat saw this as a chance to strengthen her bond with her father, hoping it might ease her eventual departure. Through this time, she learned that her father never dreamed of becoming king but was chosen without a choice. This revelation shifted Flamecoat's understanding, making her torn between her desire for adventure and her loyalty to her friends and family.
