Speck stood at the outskirts of their territory, looking out to the savannah that stretched as far as the eye can see. She turned back to look at her former home, and then her father who smiled warmly at her. She ran back to hug him once more, before she took a deep breath and began her adventure.

Newcomers to Ithaca is no new news to the king, but upon his travels to the market, he saw a lioness who seemed astounded by the various wares. Perhaps it's his well traveled mind, but all the things within the market he’s seen time and time again. He approached her and asked a simple question, but that sparked a long conversation. She then spent the day talking about her plan to travel the world. It reminds Odysseus of his younger self, Intrepid and naive. He figured, why not entertain the young one’s adventurous spirit. He told her to come to the palace and tomorrow he will show her all the beautiful sights of Ithaca.
From the early morning sun glistening on the ocean waters, to forests lit up by the moonlight, they ventured. Other lionesses joined in as well, asking Speck about her other travels; trading stories. Returning to the palace, Penelope, the Queen, had the huntresses gather enough food for a feast! The dining cave was filled with various boar, chicken, goat, and lamb. Fresh water trickled in through a natural spring and fireflies lit up the cave as they flew around. Food, song and dance commenced that night, in celebration to Speck and her journey.
Come the final day, Odysseus gave Speck the freedom to roam, but to return before departure for a proper farewell. She was able to find various local flowers, animals, and scenery. Returning as asked, Speck received a satchel filled with food, entertainment, and flora. The king and Queen stood at the entrance to the palace as Speck was ready to depart. Odyusses prayed “May Hermes provide you safety in your travels, and should anyone break that journey for you, the wrath of the gods will descend upon them. Two zebras will be given to the gods in offering for their favor.” and with that, Speck continued down the path to new lands.
