Ruby

Ruby doesn't remember too much of when she was a cub. She knows her dad wasn't the best person, and that Tripwire brought her here by the scruff, angry with him. Later, the king explained that he had only meant to get one cub, Trike, to hopefully be his heir. But he saw Ruby, cold and hungry, being sold for cheap. That he couldn't handle the sight of it. Worst of all, her dad was mad at her for even asking to be fed.

She doesn't remember that bit, or at least, chooses to block it out.

She does remember being at Tripwire's paws, in between him and her dad, listening to him growl and grit his teeth as he struck a deal with her dad.

And then she was brought here, along with Trike. That night, she remembers, being warm for the first time in months. She remembers how welcoming Celesete was, and that Rust was scary but kind. And later, more cubs were brought in by Tripwire.

She grew up in a place for the outcasted and mistreated to be safe and reside. She watched the pride shrink and grow, watching some leave and others come. She misses Drucila a little bit, and Piston, but now she has cubs of her own to watch over. Even though she knows Taste will be leaving her side to be handed off where he can grow stronger. She will protect him until then.
