Queen Wenet

Wenet is a bit of an enigma in the Kalahari Pride, she joins the pride near the end of old king Falling Spark’s long reign, but it is not Falling Spark she seems most drawn to, it is his heir, Prince Kanū. And he is drawn to her as well.

Kanū and Wenet strike up a friendship easily, but she is not named his Queen and royal consort, as many expected. Kanū seems hesitant to choose a Consort, likely because of the complex internal politics of the pride; his choice would have a drastic impact on the dynamics of his huntresses. King Kanū has multiple mates, all of whom he dotes on and treats with the utmost respect, and all of whom return his affections. But he rules alone, and much as his mates try, especially Wenet, he will not share the burden of ruling. Not yet, anyway.

When Kanū does eventually choose a queen to rule at his side, no one is surprised it is Wenet. She’s focused, intelligent and a competent leader. The two make a very good team, and their newest litter of cubs has brought them much closer. Wenet becomes Queen, and her son Matumaini is named Crown Prince. Wenet has never been more proud.

She has no issue with Kanū maintaining his relationships with his other mates, monogamy is rare for lions. Nör, Uhuru and Kurunzi are each given royal titles of their own, and become the three duchesses of the Kalahari Pride. Kanū is one for titles and protocol, unlike his predecessors.

~You find Wenet carefully watching the ducks in the water. You ask her what she's doing. She tells you that she hunts the best if she knows the behavior of her prey. Smart...but couldn't she take a break? It's been hours! 3x

~Wenet greets you with a frowned look on her face. Where have you been the whole day? There's so much to do! 2x

~When you come to say hello, Wenet runs to you, making sure you look your best today with a few licks on your cheek. 2x

~Wenet approaches you with a detailed report on the pride's whereabouts the night before.
