They wouldn't turn down a young lioness with a cub. It was for this reason that Eguaveril trotted through worn byways with a cub stumbling at her heels. Varenisil, to her credit, made no attempt to wander off, and only once asked where they were going, seemingly accepting enough of her-half sister's answer that sometimes lions went to new homes when they were weaned, just like big lions could. She was too young to really understand, after all, about her heritage, about her father's destructive ways and the things he would do to enact them. Fortunately, Varenisil grew up tumbling with the other cubs, untroubled by anything but perhaps the most petty disputes with her new friends. When she was old enough to join the hunting parties, she was thrilled to finally take down prey with the only pride she'd ever truly known. She still doesn't know the truth about her past, but she has noticed her sister seems more relaxed nowadays, much to her relief.
