Antipodes

Antipodes, if she were from any other pride, would be called 'plain.' This bothers her, but not for the reasons one might think. In fact, her plainness makes her stand out amongst the gleaming golden coats of her fellows.

No others in the Damaralands sport the muted, sepia tones of Antipodes' coat - Especially since she, as with everyone else, sports the right genetics to spawn ths characteristic golden coat and flashy markings passed down from generation to generation in these lands.

Although this uniqueness would be a source of pride for some, for Antipodes, her coat causes constant bother - after all, who else sports the perfect camouflage for those dusty clearings on the outskirts of the territory? Who else can stalk that sickly wildebeest limping toward the sandy riverbank without being spotted? Who else can spot outsiders from the muted shadows of the peaks while being indistinguishable from that rocky face?

Such a pain! All that Antipodes wants is to sit back, relax, and have a long groom under the morning sunlight... Uh-oh, that's Invictus again... always looking to snatch his most talented huntress for another long stalking session. It's back to work for Antipodes, the long-suffering lioness!
