~Newborn cub dialogue~
"How is it that such luck comes to me nearing the eve of my son's coronation?!" This angry question was roared at the entire pride when the king discovered a Felis daughter had been born to a common lioness without any pennyroyal or other breeding boosts. Kiza had proven a fine Chief Huntress, but the daughter, so much like them both, was a success in more ways than one. She would make both her parents proud, yet in unexpected ways.
Kiza, of course, had no answer for her king. Mshangazaji, her gender aside, was only partially perfect in her father's eyes. Besides, her older brother was already in line for the throne. There was no need to perform demonic magic in order to change her gender just to muddle the entire plan in the first place. Lunga's children did their duty, changing the eyes of both Nangona and Nusu, but they let Mshangazaji keep everything she was born with. She would live and die as the Felis she was born as, no demonic presence attached.
~Cub dialogue~
The king's children are cautious of you, likely to be some of his final litters. As such, there are new power struggles happening all over the territory; scavengers are fighting where they didn't before, and even humans are becoming more involved in the lives of all the animals in this kingdom. Surely the enemies of Kuongezeka can sense his failing strength as his body ages, and so he must patrol and fight more than ever before his son takes the throne. It's because of these tense times that you don't see this little one when you arrive to check in either the Pride Den or Newborn's Nursery.
Wherever the children are at this time, they're well hidden, probably watching to make sure you leave anyone alone who needs it and that you're not here to take out any anger on them...although they don't blame you if you want to knock some brutal sense into their father.
~Adult dialogue~
Mshangazaji isn't impressed when you arrive to ask about her breeding abilities or even merely to chat. It's not so much that she's bored of your questions or just irritable in general, but she rarely finds those that want to mate with her interesting, preferring her fantasies of angelic or demonic lions clashing like they do in October. Manticores must be something special, for she keeps a pair of dried bat wings to put on the back of a cub's spine along with a scorpion's tail and some bits of broken teeth to serve as horns. So, if someone arranges to look like some kind of freak of nature, she might be more than willing to just chat...and even if they don't, you'd need to pay her fee, keep your patience and hope for the best from this vain female.
~~
Second cub of Kiza's second litter, "Mshangazaji" is the Swahili word for bewilder, earned by her most unexpected mutation as a Felis female. The second Felis ever born in the history of the pride, she had an apt name, for it seemed like her arrival was sure to throw all plans in total disarray before the king announced that nothing would change as a result. Because of this, the family well accepted their rebellious Felis "princess" who learned well under Mjuvi's tutelage. Perhaps ironically and unexpectedly given the pride's influence by Lunga and her offspring to dabble in demonic rituals, Mshangazaji lived as normal and natural a life as a Felis lioness could ask for, as if all the supernatural activity around her was a bad dream to wake up from.
