What if I told you, life was built to break?
Zelman stared at the cub sitting before him; the little thing was perhaps half the size of its sibling. It was adorable, reminding him of the rare nights where his pride could splash through the dark waves of the ocean, stirring up an otherworldly green glow in their pawprints. Its mother was a newcomer, shyly admitting to a rendezvous with one of Mateo's friends not long before joining the pride, no doubt worried that she and her cubs would be chased off, or worse. He had no intention of doing so - after all, this would not be the first, not the last, he would see of the jaguars' sudden appearance in the plains.
Still, as the cub mewled and pressed further into his chest for warmth, a sense of wariness screamed through Zelman's mind. He had dreamt of the cub last night, before it even had a chance to take a breath in this world. The cub was much larger in his dream, growing in size within the blink of an eye, standing taller than even the largest of the wild ones he had seen. Multiple heads twisted upon its neck, unleashing nightmarish screams and moans that stirred the dead around him, who crowded around the monster, becoming one, until they filled his wild green fur like blackened eyes. He awoke with a start, just as the creature turned its gaze to him.
Regardless, the cub was going nowhere. The angelic blood flowing through his veins hissed, a warning of the future to come. However, if the cub does become the monster that the Nephilim fear it will, then he might as well shape it into his own twisted image.

This litter brought a small surprise: a cub that is different to normal lion cubs. Upon questioning - in fear of being chased or killed - the lioness admits to a mating with an escaped jaguar when she was in heat... The cub is a hybrid! What will you do now!?
