Kitty soft paws

Kitty flexes her paws, trying to unsheathe her claws, but nothing happens. huffing, she frustratedly paws at the mud below her. the other cubs are giggling and play fighting, but War won’t let her play along. She says their claws are too sharp, and “Kitty, you’re too soft”

“War? When will i be able to hunt and train with the other adol cubs?” Kitty asks, staring out into the acacia forest, watching King Sully ushering the adolescent females with the Huntress Group, nodding them in the direction he last saw a herd pass through.
“you won’t. your lack of claws leaves you with the inability to hunt. Peace should’ve explained this to you by now, i’m sure.” It’s true. Peace has told Kitty countless times, she is not like the rest, tells her she should just accept that “No amount of yearning and hope will bring you claws, my dear”
