Born to one of Lagan's lionesses, who chose to linger under Derliect. Cerith's mother, Wryn, tended to be a little over-protective; holdover from her time under Lagan, when lionesses were often chased away once their cubs were independent. Coddled and fussed over, Cerith ended up being a late-bloomer compared to the other cubs at Harbour, viewed as immature and spoiled by her agemates. She grew to resent the treatment as she got older, and in her adolescent years started to rebel. Her mother panicked, as her daughter flaunted pride rules, and disobeyed both Wryn and Derilect- but the new Prince at Harbour truly was not his uncle. Though he took Cerith's rule-breaking seriously, there was no malice in him, and the cub was not at risk of injury or exile at his paws. This, finally, allowed Wryn to relax her hold on her cub, and Cerith to flourish, in her own right.
