dreamstar allows goosepaw to clamber all over him, chewing on his ears and pulling on his tail -- she's lucky she's a piebald. other cubs would be met with dreamstar's relentless anger and malice for all things 'inadequate'.

dreamstar orders goosepaw to follow him to an unsuspicious pool of water. the stars above are glowing fiercely, shimmering in the deep black sky as they casually walk their way to this pool. "where are w- where are we going, sir?" she stammers, trying her best not to show her nervousness. she knows how dangerous her pride's leader is, and she fears what he might do. what reassures her, though, is the fact that she has a piebald pelt, which she knows is valuable. "to the celestial pool," meows dreamstar. "i'm gonna make you beautiful." he purrs. "also, you can lose the tension. you're safe, i assure you. you're too valuable to be gotten rid of." goosepaw lets go of the breath she wasn't even aware she was holding, and now that she realizes, they had made it to the pool already. her tension must've kept her mind occupied so hard she never noticed how far they traveled. dreamstar comes to a halt in front of her, causing goosepaw to bump softly into his leg. "take a sip from this pool," he says, sitting down and curling his tail around his paws neatly. she does so, bending down to lap up the liquid. the reflection of the stars is so strong, it almost appears to have stars suspended in the water itself, giving it a beautiful shine. as she laps the liquid, a shiver runs down her back, from nose to tail tip. goosepaw winces as she suddenly feels chilled to the bone, and when she peers back down at the water, she notices her paws are grey-purple, and dotted with stars!
