A lone lioness gave Cassis to Mercury. She was in danger and asked Mercury to protect her cub. Little did Mercury and his pride know that Cassis was a vain cub. Cassis grew to be a great stalker and chaser, always following the hunting parties and practicing with Selkie at her side. Cass admired the strong lionesses that went out daily to get fresh food for the pride and hoped she could be as good as them one day. Cassis enjoyed spending her day by the riverbank with Selkie and the four cubs. She and Selkie ran the pride branch sales, knowing they would never get robbed with Selkie's dragon bodyguard. Months passed, and it wasn't long until the cubs turned adolescent, and Cassis and Selkie joined the hunting party.
