*Vistor greeting/interaction* BioCarmine is the ninth lioness to join Vesper's pride.
Adult: {5 years, 10 months old} - Carmine found an outlet for her anxiety, meticulously grooming her daughters' pelts. She didn't know if her King would know they might not be of his blood. At the mere thought her heart started its rapid beat once more. She had broken pride law, falling for the charm of a rouge male, and ultimately being unfaithful to her King. Such an act could get her killed along with her cubs, so she had kept it a secret, hoping that her cubs would bare one of his markings and undoubtedly show that they were her King's offspring. Her heart sunk when she recognized the whisper of the other male's presence in one of her daughters. A wave of panic came afterwards, and she started to doubt not coming clean from the beginning. Would he kill her just for hiding her betrayal?
When he finally came to visit, she straightened her shoulders and tried to hide the dread running rampant in her veins. He greeted her and she tried to act her usual self, almost breaking when he eyed her a bit longer than usual. Carmine could have sworn she saw the suspicion swimming in his yellow gaze. Her ears pounded as he looked over her cubs and took his time smelling each one. She tried not to focus on him too much, but she couldn't stop from reading into every little change in his expression. Her claws unsheathed when his eyes narrowed and her hair stood on end when he suddenly growled. It was a dangerous, angry sound. His eyes swung to hers and she couldn't help but cower. "What's wrong, my love?" Carmine tried to feign her innocence, but it only earned her a snarl from her King.
"These are not mine." He stated bluntly.
Carmine's heart raced. "What?" She glanced at her cubs and then back at Vesper.
"Do you claim otherwise?" The question was laced with a warning. His cold voice, daring her to lie to him and find out what the result would be.
Carmine ran from his gaze and sunk into herself. "No, my King. I do not."
"So you have betrayed your King and your pride, in turn giving your life away, for the comfort of some other male? And then have the audacity to come back to my pride?" He snarled, bringing his face close to her and she flinched.
"Forgive me, my King," she begged. "It was a grave mistake, a foolish desire that I would do anything to take back. Please, know that. I regret my actions, deeply. I will not betray you, again."
"Yes, I can see to that myself." He bared his teeth and Carmine's ears pressed flat against her head, the seconds dragging on for an eternity as he stared at her. "Would you truly do anything to gain my favor back?" His calm voice sent shivers up her spine.
"Yes," she breathed without hesitation.
"Even taking away the life you created, with your own jaws?"
A sick wave turned in her stomach, but she answered, "Yes, my King."
"Well, then." Vesper pulled away, giving her room to breathe. "Fortunately for you, your King is a merciful one. You may keep the cubs." Carmine stared at him in shock, she couldn't believe her ears. "I will accept them into the pride, but know this my dear, if you ever betray me again. It will be the last thing you do." With that he flicked his tail and left her, unscathed, with her two daughters.
{9 years, 8 months old} - Carmine meticulously groomed the two cubs she birthed this season. If they were going to even be considered to stay within the pride, they would have to be presentable. When Vesper arrived and stopped by her nest, Carmine was poised and ready for his verdict. She wouldn't show an ounce of shock no matter his decision. Carmine would be the epitome of calm perfection. And when he claimed he was taking them both, she offered her acknowledgment in a little nod as if she expected nothing less. Her King took their son and Condor swept in and took her daughter. She watched them carry both her cubs away and pushed away the weak tug on her heart. Perhaps she'd keep a cub or two next season, meanwhile, duty called.
{10 years, 3 months old} - Lost daughter, Bambi.
