She stole a glance at the group of huntresses who were returning to the territory, dragging a large giraffe carcass behind them. Coupon stared down at her leg bitterly, the paralyzed paw dragging behind her as she walked. “Hey Coo!” Nova, a strong, orange huntress nudged into her shoulder, falling into stride next to her with much more control in her steps. Nova was one of the strongest hunters, and Coupon’s best friend. She’d recently given birth and had entrusted Coupon to watch her while she was out hunting* “How was little Kumara today? Coupon smiled, Nova’s bright mood always bringing her out of a jealous state. She chuckled and nudged her back “She did great today, especially during her training! Although crawling through a fox hole to better sneak up on her target was unconventional, it still certainly worked. I wish I could fit through those still.” “Oh yeah, I remember those training days!” The two laughed, continuing their walk around the territory. Despite the mood, Coupon couldn’t help but hold onto her jealousy of Nova. Coupon was found at the gifting tree after being sent out of her pride and picked up by the gray monkey. Nova, however, was a gift from a fellow king, a precious gift.. Coupon was battered and bruised with a useless leg, while Nova was wrapped in a silky cloth and hand delivered. Coupon trained just as hard, though! So why was she not a huntress like her?! Why was- “Hey! You doing alright? The cubs wear ya out today?” The cubs…she woke up to happy squeaks every morning, and sleepy mews at night. She taught them how to hunt, told stories, licked wounds..Did she really want anything different?
