Savanna may be Queen Sanguia's sister, but the only thing they share is blood. Unlike her sister, Savanna remembers what the pride was like before Malefor took over. Things were pleasant and everyone supported each other. It saddens her to see how her father's pride that was built on love and trust is now held together by fear and arrogance. Never before did a cub have to "prove their worth" to live, or a lioness have to succeed on every hunt or be punished for failing. Savanna honestly wants to run away, but she owes it to her father and remaining family to try and restore their pride to its former glory. She knows she's not strong enough to take on Malefor, but she hopes the cubs she raises will take to her teachings and overcome this great evil.
