Lilly was lost and scared at a tree her mother abandoned her at when Mercy was coming home from exploring, dragging a warthog with him, when he offered her a place in his pride. She used to follow Kate around; Lilly loved having an older sister model, but after Kate got pregnant, Lilly went to find a good place outside the cave to sleep. She wanted to make more space for the pregnant lionesses and all the cubs. Tavi, her best friend, soon joined her, and they did everything together. Tavi convinced the lazy Lilly to follow the hunting parties, telling her how important it was to learn how to provide for the pride. Once Cassis and Selkie joined the hunting parties, Lilly soon took up cub sitting, and Lilly realized she loved being at home with the cubs. After all the older lionesses left the pride for the reserves, and she reached adulthood, she felt comfortable enough to claim the title of Broodmother.
