Huruma

Huruma means ‘mercy’ or ‘compassion’, Regandi claimed him from the tree after a starving lioness and her cub died in his arms on a patrol. The great king was powerless to save them, and they had not been the first, the drought has taken many lives. Regandi views Huruma as a kind of penance. This life he can save, and improve.

Huruma is a blessing to the whole pride, and is promptly adopted. Regandi’s consorts all fuss over him, and all would gladly have claimed him as their foster son, but Regandi gives him to Kanuni. Kanuni had recently retired from the hunting party, and all her cubs were grown. Little Huruma brings joy and purpose back into her life. Plus, Lessa got to adopt the last foundling cub, and she’s nursing a newborn, she can’t have ALL the babies!

Huruma bonds quickly with his foster mother, and she adores him in return. Regandi is his foster father, but the cub idolizes him far beyond that. In fact, Regandi is the ONLY lion the cub shows even a modicum of respect to! Once he isn’t hungry and scared anymore, he becomes a right little terror, to the amusement of all.

~Huruma seems to be gnawing on a skull, the same one he's been gnawing for past few days. It is now scarred in teeth marks. You greet him, thinking it's time to get a new toy for him. 2x

~Huruma is pacing back and forth. You suggest he ought to go practice his climbing, and he gleefully leaves to go do just that. Thank Apedemak, the pacing was driving you mad. 2x

~Huruma suddenly decided to rocket out of the den. Goodbye. Oh, he just rocketed back in and tackled a feather. Hello. Enjoy furiously destroying that toy. Oop, he just ran off again. Goodbye.
