While exploring his territory, Madrid found a gray-striped adolescent, face still round from cubhood, under a massive baobab tree. He made a vow to visit the "Giving Tree" regularly, in case a young lion finds their way there injured and/or ill.... As for Santo herself, she says nothing about why she was at the tree, but her actions often speak louder than her words on this matter....

When Santo grew into an adult, as her first heat came, a man-eater kidnapped her. She managed to return to the pride, using the Giving Tree as a signpost, but she did not return unscathed....

In-Character Intro
An adolescent lioness paces, tail flicking in annoyance. Teenagers: They're always in a rush. "You're cleared to be here, right?" Of course you are, so why does that sound vaguely like a challenge?

When you don't rise to it, she puffs herself out. "I'm Santo. So if you're going to be a guest here, you have to pull your weight. Fortunately, there's always work to do around here. Come with me!"

Who in the pride are they closest to?
Dublin was the only adult female (able to hunt) for a while. In that time, Santo categorized her in her mind as a secure provider. Considering where she was found, maybe she had not had that in her life before....

What are their hobbies?
Santo is too shy to participate herself, but she loves listening to stories from lions who are older than her.

What are some things other pride members say about them?
Dublin: "Santo is... high-strung. But don't let that hard exterior scare you off. She's a good and loyal pride member with a bright future ahead of her."
Lisboa: "It's a sad thing, for such a young adolescent to be one of the most responsible members of a pride.... The rest of us need to step up."
Copenhagen: "Why was she found wandering alone at 12 months old? She must have done something to warrant such a response from a king..."
