BioAurora is the 14th lioness to join Vesper's Pride.
Adult: {2 years, 5 months} - Aurora adored her little cub. She didn't resemble her in the least bit, but she was unique. Aurora was certain that her King would approve of their daughter, but that was before she watched him and his only son take Vega's cubs from her. Her heart hadn't stopped racing, when he came back to meet her cub, with Condor hovering behind looking just as nervous as everyone else seemed to be. Aurora was stiff as he nudged their cub over and give her a light sniff. Her heart dropped when she caught the slightest hint of a frown. "Isn't she beautiful?" Aurora asked desperately, hoping to change his mind. Vesper looked at her and spoke as if she hadn't spoken in the first place, "She's not staying, Aurora." She held his gaze, feeling the tears well in her eyes. "Well, I can't say I'm not surprised." Her voice waivered a bit, though she tried to keep the mood light. "There will be more cubs in the future," he assured her. Aurora simply nodded as he leaned down and took their cub in his jaws. They would try again, she tried to tell herself, but the sentiment in that statement felt hollow. She watched her King leave with Condor trailing him, for once his head hanging low and his body seemingly heavy. When they were both out of sight, her stomach clenched on itself, but she pushed past the pain and made her way to Vega. Eira gave up her spot beside the lioness and Aurora rubbed against her before plopping down beside her, feeling a bond with the mourning mother.
{6 years, 4 months old} - Aurora couldn't bat away the beat of sadness she felt when Vega's cub was taken from Mother's Den. Though her friend reassured her with a smile afterwards, she knew it hurt to have your cub rejected. There wasn't a pain quite like it. Vega hadn't been allowed to keep a single cub since joining the pride, Aurora at least had a daughter. She had given birth to another female this season, but Aurora knew she was more likely going to lose her than keep another cub. So she nuzzled her, and groomed her, and spoke sweetly to her, telling her how beautiful she was and how much she loved her before Vesper entered Mother's Den again. It didn't take long before he decided her fate and took her from Aurora's side. Watching her cub draw further and further away, now that she had a daughter, affected her in a different way than before. Visions of her cub growing plump beside her belly, playing with the other cubs, learning with them during cub training and then hunting beside her flashed before her mind with each of her King's step. She had seen her daughter grow up before she even left Mother's Den and she got the feeling that the ache of what could have been would haunt her long after. Aurora rose to her paws and found her way to Vega's nest where she comforted herself with a nuzzle and settled beside her. A mother's life and role weren't easy in the Eternal Eclipse pride, but she didn't share the hardships alone and that made it all worthwhile.
