Khadir

Story
10/3/2024 - Khadir is a man who knows what he wants.
He'd made that abundantly clear when he insisted on joining the Prince on his patrols. He had a fascination with the world outside the Sun Pride and longed to see it for himself, expectations be damned. Cassius, for his part, was almost amused by the man's determination, and so he obliged. That's how they ended up here.
Khadir, of course, knew very little of what he was actually signing up for. Patrolling was a lot of work with very little actual excitement. And patrolling with Cassius was even worse. Khadir had to move twice as fast to keep up with the Primal's massive stride, and the Prince insisted on his patrols even in the worst of weather. Some days were absolutely brutal, but he persevered, as he was not going to quit after working so hard just to get here.
His efforts did not go unrewarded. As Cassius saw his growth, he began to take him further from the Pridelands, and Khadir began to see the sights he'd been dreaming of. Even when they didn't see anything interesting, he found himself content with the journey. The many, many months by Cassius's side had seen them growing closer, and Khadir slowly became more invested in the time spent alongside the Prince rather than the destination.

It's a quiet night. Cassius is settled at his usual stargazing spot, far enough from the Pridelands that it hadn't been discovered yet. Khadir, respecting the Prince's privacy, had no intention of ever searching for it - so to say he was shocked to be invited was an understatement. He tries to be quiet as he approaches, not wanting to disrupt the peace, but Cassius hears him anyway. The Prince huffs, saying nothing but moving over in a clear invitation.
An invitation that Khadir takes, settling in for a quiet night under the stars.
